      Well, I don't know what they did, but as of late last night, the problem seems to finally be resolved for me. I checked again this morning just to be sure. A little slow logging in, but no lag with transitions or switching characters, and no disconnects. Whoever has been working on this at KI, thank you!

      I told Support that I simply waited a short time and then tried to login again.
      No problems and no error messages.
      Keeping these instructions (for future reference).

      Hello,
      This is a very common error message.
      Luckily it can usually be fixed quite easily.

      First don't panic.
      Try this.
      Connect to a different available network.
      This will typically resolve it.

      Even temporarily connecting to a hotspot network temporarily has resolved this issue.
      If you are unable to connect to another network you may need to change physical locations.
      Once you've connected to a different network retry the game.

      If that does not resolve it then try adjusting your Firewall settings (Windows Defender & any additional security programs you may have) to make sure you are allowing the following programs to run:

      Wizard101.exe - ProgramData/Kingsisle Entertainment/Wizard101

      WizardgraphicalClient - ProgramData/Kingsisle Entertainment/Wizard101/Bin

      After doing this please retry the game.
      If at this point you're still not patching try temporarily disabling your firewall for only as long as it takes to patch. Once it's done exit the launcher, turn your firewall back on and restart the game.

      Let us know the results!

      left click on the magnifying glass icon
      In the grey box at the left bottom of your screen type "cmd" without the quotations
      right click on the black box at the top labeled "command Prompt"
      left click run as administrator
      When you receive the pop-up box asking if you want to allow this program to make changes to the computer left click "okay"
      Press enter
      In the black command window, type tracert login.us.wizard101.com > C:\tracert.txt and press Enter.
      A file will be created on your C: drive called tracert.txt that contains your trace route information.
      Type exit and press Enter to close the command window.

      Thanks. I haven’t seen that message, and even with very slow patching, I’m able to log in. My issues have mostly been with the in-game transitions. But I will try some of those measures tonight.
