I feel like everybody has their own style when it comes to this so I made a poll!

How do you like to start your battles??!!

I know this is sort of depends on the battle itself, like the boss' difficulty or how much experience you have with the battle (like if you've farmed this fight several times before).

Anybody who knows me knows I'll CHARGE!!!!! This is partially because I'm just so used to being first because of BladeStorm and I'm just so used to every single battle I'm entering that I already know everything about everything (or don't care). Only a few times do I need to flee afterwards and regroup with the stragglers I left behind blindly

Great question! This is just the type of thing that will reveal a lot about each other.

In my case, I am a "classic" Virgo/Libra mix (63 is just a couple days away, LOL). This means that I am a planner, also known as MAJOR time OCD. A place for everything and everything in its place BUT at the same time I "think" I am balanced about my OCD mania.

I will always try to stop, look and listen about everything...then make a plan that lets everything be done as fast and easy as possible; but I do know and accept that there are times to just charge in and hope/pray for the best.

Yeah, I sound like a crazy old man, but it works for me (Thank @Jester and the WIKI! I use it a lot!).

I've three subs, normally playing alone on just those so I charge right in there. I'll see how things go and if I don't win, then I'll plan what I'm going to do with each of my guys and try it again.

I can’t pick a single choice since depending on the circumstances, one of two things will happen.

I tend to play with the same group of people. If we’re farming for Azoth and fighting King Borr or Lady Stonegaze, for example, we all just run in since we can defeat those bosses no matter how we play it.

If it’s a fight that we haven’t done or can’t really remember, we’ll take a look at the situation and adjust our decks accordingly. If we run into trouble only then will we consult the wiki, yelling out suggestions as we go.

If it's a Team Up where I am helping a Wizard of quite a bit lower level, I will usually enter first, once they indicate they're ready, unless they tell me they want to be first (it happens!). If it is a Team Up with all max level Wizards, I will join after the first other person starts -- especially if I'm in one of those battles where the strategy is unfamiliar to me.

Then, there are the battles where I got distracted offline and realize everyone else has gone in and I'm late - then it's run in while apologizing.

I'll always wait just a second to see if anyone needs to change a deck, ask for help/directions or to make sure everyone is there and hasn't fleed. If you charge in I'll be right behind you. I'm always prepared and ready for wherever and whatever dungeon or boss I'm battling. I've no need to wait but will typically give it a second for those who are not.

If it's a simple battle, I'll wait until everyone moves, closes their books and steps forward. If no one joins, I'll go in first. If someone doesn't approach the boss, I'll ask if they're ready.

If it's a worthy cheat boss, I'll ask if everyone knows the rules and check if we need to establish roles or anything - those battles are pretty rare nowadays.

When I played more often I would normally read a guide about the boss if they are known cheaters or I will run in right away. I typically played alone (or had help from my second account.) when I quests so if I die and have to restart again that's fine. I haven't teamed up with other players in a long time, but I also haven't played in awhile, either.
