Back in the old days

The player community really wanted the ability to remove side quests. And in a way, Ki tried to do this in their usual half-baked way (though, admittedly far easier than doing it completely) by giving players the ability to hide their quests away from their main page of quests. This certainly helped declutter the amount of anxiety players had about "having too much to do" or receiving a quest they picked up accidentally in anticipation of actually not having the interest in completing the quest. And now, I guess there's not too much thought about this...But I feel like maybe it's a good time to bring this back up because the capabilities of Ki several years ago, aren't the same as what Ki can accomplish now.
I know Ki will always argue "why not just do the side quest?" (kind of like the argument against Treasure Card Vaults, "why not just use the TC?"). What's your counterargument?
Should be allowed to remove side quests?**
**By removing side quests, I mean returning the quest to the NPC who originally gave the player the quest as though the player had never accepted the side quest in the first place.
