Should we be allowed to remove side quests?

      Back in the old days

The player community really wanted the ability to remove side quests. And in a way, Ki tried to do this in their usual half-baked way (though, admittedly far easier than doing it completely) by giving players the ability to hide their quests away from their main page of quests. This certainly helped declutter the amount of anxiety players had about "having too much to do" or receiving a quest they picked up accidentally in anticipation of actually not having the interest in completing the quest. And now, I guess there's not too much thought about this...But I feel like maybe it's a good time to bring this back up because the capabilities of Ki several years ago, aren't the same as what Ki can accomplish now.

I know Ki will always argue "why not just do the side quest?" (kind of like the argument against Treasure Card Vaults, "why not just use the TC?"). What's your counterargument?

Should be allowed to remove side quests?**

**By removing side quests, I mean returning the quest to the NPC who originally gave the player the quest as though the player had never accepted the side quest in the first place.

Signature created by Expelliarmus in Blue Nouveau Designs, thanks!

a friend of mine couldn't hide her quest. Is there some on and off switch to having this ability? She was a member. She said the option wasn't there.

Storyline quests cannot be hidden. Which quest was she attempting to Hide?

ON TOPIC: No, I think if you actually clicked Accept when you were originally speaking with the NPC, then just complete the quest. The game is getting confusing enough, and 99% of side quests can be completed fairly quickly.

I don't know, to me the hide feature is just fine, you can put the quest aside and not see it. It's kind of the players own fault though; getting in such a rush that you pick up things you don't want to do.

She was trying to hide the druid in the drain quest. I was told that was optional but idk. Thanks!

Re: Should we be allowed to remove side quests?

I'd be fine with just the Hide feature under two conditions:

      (1) If a hidden quest was truly, fully hidden. I ended up getting annoyed and did all my side quests that I had hidden because, if the quest arrow was on, it was still directing me to a hidden quest when there were none unhidden.

      (2) If it was more difficult to accidentally pick up a side quest. A story NPC will sometimes have a side quest available at the same time you're turning in a main quest. They'll start the side quest dialogue immediately after, so it forces you to carefully click through the dialogue so you can hit decline instead of accept at the end. I'd like the choice menu to pop up for NPCs even when there's only one choice to cancel up front

Barring those issues, the Hide feature is fine and I absolutely wouldn't call it a half-baked solution. Having quests hidden just saves you time picking the quest back up later if you ever do decide you tackle it.

Re: Should we be allowed to remove side quests?

The inspiration behind this thread was because on my life, I purposefully picked in the Side Quest related to the Crying Sky Raid. However this quest requires me to upgrade my momstrology level to be enough to extract a dinosaur in Azteca, which I cannot do because I never began monstrology on my life wizard. In fact, I don't do monstrology at all except for Dylan because everything I could ever need from monstrology could be done on a single wizard.

I made it my mission to do every single quest on all of my wizards (and I'll continue doing this for my myth in due time) yet it annoys me when there are these incredibly annoying prerequisite conditions I must obtain in order to complete a quest. Now my life has an additional quest and if I truly want to finish this mission, I'll have to take the extra mile of completing several ranks of monstodology on each of my wizards. I don't think I have that in me.

That chain of quests is optional before you start it. But then the entire chain of quests converts to "storyline" (catacombs is a side quest area, but that is the "storyline" of catacombs). This makes it impossible to hide Catacombs quests. Same happens with the Aquila, Wysteria, and Grizzleheim quests actually!

      Hope this helps.
