Earliest Memory of W101 vs Most Recent Memories of W101?

This is a fun topic! I know the majority of us are old timers that have roots towards the hay day of W101's time in the internet and well, still play frequently.

What's your earliest memory of W101? What's your most recent memory of W101? How do they compare?


My earliest memory is really just running through Big Ben a billion times for the No Auction School Themed gear and the Watch Dog Statue (which I've only gotten once and then I was like "I quit!"). Most recent memory is this morning, running through team ups without a care in the world and half paying attention because I don't have to think to perform well at killing things and I'm unlikely to encounter danger. From having nothing to everything I want (mostly) is pretty nice cause I can't say the same irl

My earliest would probably be getting my first good pet. Sophia Spellforge worked with me for weeks till I finally got what I wanted. She was from Australia and would stay up till the wee hours and I'd get up early in the mornings to hatch. I was so tickled when things finally turned out right. Now, from her teachings I've got excellent/perfect pets out the wazoo and none of them has brought the excitement of the very first one.

Earliest: In elementary school, one of my friends, A, she played Wizard101 and introduced me to the game. I watched A for a while, and then I had made my own account when I went home. I remember being so excited, and for creating my wizard, going through the questionaire/quiz that Professor Ambrose gives. And that's how Kayla DeathRiver was born. Haha. I also remember asking my family if I could get a membership shortly after, Lol.

Recent: Getting my Storm her Waterworks gear. and finally getting a good pet for her. I now have 93% accuracy for her and it's a good feeling.
Another would be getting the Candied Isles Bundle. I haven't gotten a bundle for a long while and I just love it. The candy house is so pretty and the little marshmellow pet is so adorable.

Most recent: Questing with Val through Polaris and Mirage last night, me on death and him fire

Signing on in 2009 to meet up with my oldest son and his friend who was a life wizard.
She gave my fire girl a whole bunch of life saving treasure cards especially Rebirth
which at the time I thought was amazing. It's a bittersweet memory, as she eventually
succumbed to her illness and passed away which caused my son to quit playing for a long time.

Recent memory is playing with my grandson helping him level up his new Storm to LV 100 and showing him
I may be Gramma but here in the Spiral I'm no pushover lol
He started playing at age 7 and is now 19 and still wants to play the game with his Gramma and Uncle Ryan.

My earliest memory is watching over my 12 year old daughter's shoulder, since she was the first one of us to discover the game and create an account. She let me and my son create our first Wizards on her account, and the three of us shared for a good six months. She moved on to other games, and my son, with his friends, played his Wizard up through Dragonspyre and they "beat the game." Meanwhile, I created my very own account and filled it with wizards from every school.

I just loved the graphics and the writing, so I have never minded repeating it over and over. To this day, I am still creating new Wizards to experience again the magic of the first worlds. My most recent Wizard is a Fire named Aaron, in a superstitious attempt to avoid seeing Aaron show up in place of my main Wizard.

I remember that I was reluctant to start. I had been very involved in another game, but ultimately the designers chose to alter the combat system, i.e. make bloody. After that I very quickly decided to try something new and had seen on-line ads for W101. I gave it a shot and haven’t looked back.

During the Covid lock down, I began to take house decorating seriously and I continue to enjoy doing ‘house projects’ as a creative, problem-solving exercise. At the moment I’m working on an Open Space. I also love W101 fishing as a means of relaxing.

Earliest memory was in August 2008, looking through pictures of the game while the launcher loaded... I was thinking to myself "this game looks REALLY wizardly..." and not in a good way, I thought it was too much stuff adorned with stars-and-moon kind of wizardly.

My most recent memory was logging off on Monday after my team in Beastmoon Mayhem had amazing communication and used their forms masterfully, but still lost because we were all playing mid-range or defensive forms.

It happens to me quite frequently these days - I get reminded of the atrocious design of Mayhem and raids, how they push you to speed-run, punish creativity, take away the freedom of how you play - it makes me SO mad the devs created these modes where players default to losers if they don't commit to speed and damage above all else. Then it reminds me of the state PvE battles, the death of healers and tanks and different builds and then I just need to get away from Wiz.

It's rather ironic, in the earliest memory I'm going in, unsure if Wiz was my cup of tea. In the latest I'm going out, with the realization KI isn't brewing my kind of tea anymore.

My first memory was finding myself in the commons of this totally magical make-believe world, at what must have been full capacity, and being wigged out!! Woah, there was nothing but a huge sea of blue overhead names and pet names, and chats scrolling so fast in my little window, that I quickly left. I didn't have the experience to know how to make sense of it.

My most recent memory is of just being relaxed and enjoying flying around, doing daily tasks on my mount which means riding on Baba Yaga's house lol

My first memory of Wiz was my first day in 2011. I found Wiz because I was searching for the (at that time) new Harry Potter game but didn't know the name of it and figured..huh Wizard 101...Maybe give this a try. I was absolutely clueless how to play strategy games and didn't understand any of the stat abbreviations or what they meant. I took the test and made and deleted at least 6 wizards trying to get someone other than ice. Finally figured I was stuck always being ice. (who knew there was a skip test button). Dying millions of times and fizzling my way through unicorn way and wondering why I continued with the game.

My best memory is making one of my best friends because I got pulled into a Marlybone fight.

My worse memory is when my best friend became banned because of stupid word censoring.
