Is the Spiral Getting Busier?

Now that it's been a little while since the first arc was free, do you think the spiral is busier than it used to be in recent times? Obviously without official data I'm just speculating. However I would say that there's more people around playing the game. Typically I used to like to be on Greyrose Realm and there would only be a few people in the bazaar. Now days there is often quite a lot of people around and sometimes even a second area. What are your experiences and what do you think?

I would say no. I just looked at my Realm Page and there were only two crowded realms and one normal one. The rest were perfect. I can remember way back when there'd be half a dozen crowded realms and several normal ones so I'd say it's not getting busy at all.
I always go to perfect realms and can run around all day and never see a soul.

There might be more people in Perfect Realms than one could guess because we don't know the threshold of population a realm must be to be crowded. I don't think the population of players is going to decrease or increase anytime soon (even considering what a mess the game is now, what a mess the game will be more in the future given trends). It's just the population of people quitting the game for whatever reason or simply cannot afford the timing to play frequently (which there is nothing wrong about that in most circumstances), are getting replaced by players who have more free time or playing by nostalgia's sake. Maybe there is a track in which there would be an increase as people are having more free time (due to circumstances like our failing employment record like layoffs and people being replaced by technologies more efficient than humans) however I would say as of now, that is unlikely to happen in the near future as reasons I don't wanna talk about. It might feel like there are more players around because most of the activities are centralized in Wizard City as opposed to the many other worlds out there for whatever reason.

I'm not comparing to back in the day but say 1 year ago to now.

I think it’s definitely stagnated. The free membership that KI has done the last couple of years for Yuletide surely creates a blip in the data since I remember Centaur was crowded at that point this past December (the last time that happened was years ago, mirage or empyrea maybe?). Now it’s sort of returned back to what it was in November, only the first 4 realms remain crowded at peak times.
