      Who says KI doesn't listen?

Who says that KI doesn't pay attention to what we say here?

I've been farming Jamburglar, and getting lots of Beans and Chunks. I bragged about it here:

      https://www.wizard101central.com/for...85#post5659285

Maybe they just didn't pay attention to the fact that I was getting double reagents that hour, but ever since then they cut the drop rate by over half. Even without the potion I was averaging either a chunk or a bean every run. Now its half that.

The same with Ultra King Parsley seeds. I had accumulated 15 of them and decided it was time to start planting them. For a while they were self-sustaining. Over several crops I had built up to 23 per crop. Then I said something about all the amber I was getting. And the UKP stopped being self-sustaining. In my last crop of 11 plants I got 3 new seeds.

If there's something that the players like, they will mess with it to make it harder
. Just to mess with the players.

Apparently they have cut the drops on almost everything. I have 2 baby wizards that have been farming in Grizz for CP seeds. I have only gotten 2 in the last week. It is virtually impossible to level pets with just the low grade snacks.

I have also noticed that they don't get any gear drops for their own school but do get them for all others. Not all of us can afford to buy crowns for seeds, let alone gear.

Just putting it out there, I don't think Ki does anything different on the basis of one person (or at least I hope so but I cannot say for sure, like watching a single Discord Streamer lol). I don't think Ki is out to get you. The last statement is not entirely true (though one case is not generalizable to the entire statement, I'm just saying saying there's some falsifiable examples). When we were struggling to get Spellements because the only way to get them was from packs, Ki actually went ahead to make it easier to obtain. Though I cannot say for sure if the intention was completely good, it did objectively made it easier. I can probably name a couple more examples, but certainly Ki's "balancing" needs some work.

Also, I'm not sure why Ki changes things so randomly and unreasonably. I know some of it wasn't intentional, programming and coding is just like that everywhere. They're always tinkling with drop rates for some things and it's odd what they seem to be changing. Some many things are in the air but I think the Ultra King Parsley thing and the Karamelle Reagents thing, I'm leaning towards it being unintentionally changes that they're to busy to change back. It just seems strange as I don't see Ki doing anything about gardening or with Karamelle.

I keep thinking that they're cutting drop rates so they can force players to spend more time playing and thus increasing likelihood of renewing membership. Everything they're making more difficult to obtain, is ultimately to make money off of us almost like exploitation (I know Ki doesn't like that word lol). Like lowering the changes of getting Couch Potatoes is there to make players buy Mega Snack Packs or farm longer, which ultimately makes them more money. And they're obviously aware of this (because they hint to it in the dialog of the main story of Novus lol). Ughhhhh capitalistic corporations!!!

Point taken, can't argue with that. Also, if we can't get things via drops, more likely to spend crowns buying packs, etc. But that's just two sides of the same coin.

To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, Crowns aren't everything, they're the only thing.

Re: Who says KI doesn't listen?

So much of the game is actually dependent on LUCK -- we have runs of good luck and runs of bad luck, and some Wizards are just luckier than others.

I'm with Dylan in thinking that the programmers aren't going to bother with tweaking things in the game based on comments made here. They have all kinds of statistics and numbers to look at that will determine what they adjust with each game update. It really isn't healthy to think that we are being targeted by some malign intentions when our luck runs out and things aren't going our way.

It was bad enough when they took away Double Seeds. My grandson had just created an account about 2 weeks before that happened. He played for a while and farmed in Grizz for several weeks trying to get those seeds. It got to the point he stopped playing so I am no longer paying for that account. It is now just a card holder if needed.

I'm sure some players probably do buy the Mega Snacks but, that is not something I will do. As for constant farming in Grizz for the seeds, I don't plan to continue. It just means that my 3rd account will eventually become dormant as well. It isn't worth continuing when the snacks are not available to level pets. My 2 main accounts already have some max pets on all wizards. In fact they each have extra CP seeds that I would give to my grandson or even to my Ice wizard on that 3rd account. But since we can't trade anything other that TC, giving the seeds won't happen either. The same thing is true with the Jewel seeds. I got started with those because a friend gifted me 2 packs that actually gave me the Jewel seeds to start.

It is much harder for new players to get any of the seeds as drops as well as gear for their particular school.

I didn't farm for my Couch Potato seeds, but I accumulated quite a few farming Gannon and Madd'n in the secret tunnel in Empyria. I started farming there for Flying Squid Ink, but they drop a lot of other good stuff, too: Couch Potato seeds, Gear I can sell for gold (To buy snacks like Shanta Pudding and Killer tomato in the Bazaar), shiny-sparkling gems (Ditto), even, on rare occasions, things like Ultra King Parsley seeds and Antheneum Delight. It's one of my favorite places to farm, along with the Thieves Den and (lately) Jamburglar.

Yes I 100% agree. I didn't think it was necessary to make a separate thread on this, but I've farmed the Atavus fight 50 or so times in the last 40 days or so and I've gotten one masterpiece hat (zero aeon hats), and all other drops have been robes and wands. I want to believe that it's bad luck, but when it's consistent regardless of the day or time, it becomes harder to believe.

Oh absolutely they listen and make quick changes when the drop rate is favouring us. I'm also sure it's not the first time they have tried messing with Ultra King Parsley seed drops, God forbid we take advantage of something positive. Maybe sometime I'll grow some of mine just as an experiment since I stopped quite a while ago. I sincerely doubt we will ever see another crafted spell and there's little else to use Amber on. So I don't have much need for Ultra King Parsley any more.

It's been a long time since I farmed there for couch potato seeds but it wouldn't surprise me if they have cut the drop rates. From what I recall the key was killing as many mobs as possible as quick as possible. Also back when I used to farm for them I would try to spend an hour doing it, which was very boring especially if I went much longer. I don't know if things have changed but I found I was more successful earlier in the week, focusing more on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. It appeared to me like they add so many couch potatoes to the drop pool per week. So when there were plenty they dropped more frequently and the later in the week they seemed to dry up and become much harder to find. If you do ever try again hopefully that old personal experience will help.

I can tell you there is a huge amount of luck and bad RNG is just terrible. How? I quad box that Atavus and one account has gear galore, while another -- of course the one I want the gear on -- is having to slowly craft every...single...piece. I just finished consolidating spellements on accounts and that's the same thing. One account is LOADED with nighbringers -- enough for all the wizards -- while my main barely got enough to craft it on 1 guy.

That said, KI does monitor this stuff and has a long track record of tweaking drops or nerfing pets or whatnot to "balance" the game, so it's hard to rule that out definitively.
