Move the Extract Insect spell to Monstrologist Burke in Ravenwood

I think everyone knows I enjoy creating new Wizards to enjoy the early game content, and I also enjoy using Monstrology to create House Guests and Treasure Cards. However, I noticed that I do not have any real incentive for these new Wizards to do the Renee Wooften quest Dog Gone Doug in Olde Town. The drops are unexciting, we don't get a lot of gold there, and it's a very dark location.

I would suggest that more new players would enjoy this quest if they were able to extract Insect Creatures for Animus in this location. I also think that the cost of the Extract Insect spell should be reduced to 10,000 Gold if it was to be moved, on a par with Extract Gobbler.

The Insect Creatures there cannot be Extracted for Animus until a Wizard has reached the Silent Market area in Khrysalis. Do high level wizards return to this early quest/location at that point? I don't know.

I agree with this suggestion! I have been spending time running all over the Spiral to capture the early creatures. I also think that the cost of the spells (100,000.00) should be lower for all the spells. At this price, it is hard to afford the spells. Then pay for the creatures to use in decorating. Maybe there would be more interest in the feature if the whole thing was less expensive? But while I am dreaming of things, some dog/cat/rat spells would be nice. Happy days in the Spiral everyone!!

      lol you mean 10,000 gold

Anyhow, I've never really known why the Oldale Town Renee quest was ever relevant. It's really forgettable because I agree, there's nothing to gain from it. No special gear or housing drops or high amount of gold. The badge is very unexciting in comparison to other badges a player would get during that time. There's no point in making it some precursor to the Catacombs if that's the case why it's there, the duration of time between doing this quest and getting the Catacombs quest at level 130 is just too long. To add on, why not connect that quest with monstrology in general. Like the reward for completing the Oldale Town sewers quest is the 10k gold necessary to buy an Extract Animus card. I think that would give enough incentive, the possibility of easily learning the Extract Insect Animus spell and using it by returning to the sewers dungeon. Perhaps after the completion of Renee's quest, we can have a "learn how to extract animus" tutorial quest that involves talking to Monstrologist Burke (I think that's the name?) and returning to the sewers to get a specific extract from a specific boss.

I think would be really good to make more options for wizards to play around with at an earlier stage in their gameplay rather than waiting for the fire of monstrology to be burnt out in Khrysalis where most players don't try to get animus anymore as opposed to enchanting using a sun school spell

Oops, - I changed my post to say Gold, thanks!

I believe Monstrologist Burke pops up at Level 12 to teach extracting Animus with the Extract Undead spell, so don't think it needs to link back at Level 15 with Renee's quest. You can only get the Extract Gobbler spell if you pay for Colossus Blvd (or when Wizard City is Free) so this would be a second spell that free-to-play Wizards could play around with.
