The Hale Hydra Pet is one of those granted by the Level 50 Elixir, in this case, for the Balance School, and looks exactly like the Hydra Pet.

The Pet is Balance School Only.

According to the Pet Tome description, Hale Hydra is an Exclusive Pet, it doesn't count in the pet totals.

We'd like to thank @Iridescenci for being the first to create the page on the Wiki The basic information has now been confirmed, and you, or anyone else, are very welcome to provide more info on this pet, if wish. Pet Talents slots still need to be filled in, and the Egg Name is missing.

Thank you for helping fill out the wiki and provide evidence! I did notice that your Hale Hydra and Clever Cogs were showing as exclusive, whereas mine are not:



I know for the Hale Hydra I had hatched for it, but the Clever Cogs I can't remember if I hatched for that or got it from somewhere. When I was leveling my death I believe she got the new version of Wraith which is the Phantasm, so I have both Phantasm* and Phantasm in my tome (both non-Hybrid):

So my assumption is that if you just reach Level 50, you'll have the exclusive version of the school pet.

I agree, at this point, the 1st generation pet is exclusive.
I will try to double-check on my other characters asap, especially for the Clever Cogs Pet
