      Pet Gene Idea

I had this idea to fix pets from overflowing and having to sell or trash them for space! What if we can take pets with manifested talents and take them to the hatchery and go special talent vending machine and for gold based on the talent's rarity type get gene reagents back of that talent. Then the gene reagents can be used during hatches. So before you hatch it ask what pet you like back, then it ask which genes you like to add. Gene talents are guaranteed so the more you have to add you can guarentee you pet talents.

      1. you can only get gene talent by vending manifested talents you already have.
      2. Each gene is equal to 1 talent.
      3. Once a gene is used it gone

This will make perfect pets easier while still requiring work to get them. This will also make pets useful for future pets while eliminating the pet overpopulation issue in our bags, banks and houses.

      Re: Pet Gene Idea

This is a great idea. Where is the expected value advantage for Wizard101?

I tweaked this game of chance definition to fit, IMHO, our Wizard101 Pet Hatching.

Pet Hatching has mathematically determined odds that ensure the house Wizard101 has at all times an advantage over the player Wizard. This can be expressed more precisely by the notion of expected value, which is uniformly negative (from the player's Wizard’s perspective). This advantage is called the house edge. In Pet Hatching, the house Wizard101 takes a commission called the rake Hatching fee. Wizard101 Pet Hatching casinos sometimes give out complimentary items, such as comps to the gambler Double Pet Reward Event to the Wizard.

Giving wizards an edge, this way makes more people want to hatch. Fail talent can be used on later pets but it still requires resources. The more the wizard hatches the less fails they have over time. When you garden whether you buy the plant or farm them ki don't get any more mega snack sale. Unless you're in a hurry you're not buying energy when you're out when you can wait till tomorrow to try again which most people do. I don't see giving wizards that hatch a edge over time hurts ki when gardening do that already.

From a player’s point of view all that you are saying makes a lot of sense. I believe your point can be applied to all areas where the house has the edge. But this concept of expected value and the house edge advantage continues to work very well for the house as it has been around since the early Greeks, maybe earlier. Good luck with your poll.
