Do we need an attic?

Our guild has run into a problem with objects that have been placed with advanced move, and I'm sure we're not alone.

In our own castles, if an item has been "sunk" to the point where it can no longer be selected, we can always retrieve it through the "house" button that is available in the attic. But since there is no attic in our guild space, we have no way to pick up anything that has been placed out of reach. These items still take up placement space, and we have no way to get them back if/when we want to change a visual effect that we have created.

Would it be possible to add a "house" button to the guilds?

I completely agree! This would be such a time saver and headache relief, though the mechanics of "pick up all your items" may need to stay removed as it would be super painful if someone accidentally picked up all the decorations everyone put on the islands.

Though I've found that the walls and guild islands themselves are kind of, poorly built? If you've accidentally sunk an item below the island or through a wall (like I have), you can just move rugs to be above the house roof or below the island and grab the items that way. Depending on where the item sunk in, it may take a lot of rugs, but it is possible to retrieve your item!

You can also use a magic text detector, choose a phrase and sink it. Port to it and have a look around. Often you can grab the offending item that way.

Good point about the “pick up all!” That would be dangerous.

I call that building quality “porous.” In the past, many of our player houses have had barriers that make it difficult to get through, up and over, or down under certain areas. I haven’t needed to travel through surfaces much since Advanced Move was implemented, but it’s good to know that shouldn’t be too difficult on the guild islands.

Interesting! I will have to experiment with this in my own houses, as I’ve never used the text detector before. I assume you have to set up the “port to” function before you do the sinking?

I would do, yes. Otherwise you'll need to figure out how to sink yourself another way to click on it, which is kind of the original problem :D

A catalogue of changes (which player moved what) would be nice to in order for players to see who changed what would be be nice too. We've had a problem of having projects changed without permission and we don't know or could find out who had done it. I think it's good to know.
