Removing "screenshot verification" requirement from Pet & Spell drops
Hello everyone!
From now on, the Wizard101 Central Wiki will be allowing Pet & Spell information to be entered on the Wiki without screenshot verification. After requiring verification for years now, the Team decided to take another look at the reasons these standards were put into place.
After some discussion, our Team decided that these drops shouldn't be added in a different way compared to other Items. Instead, they can now be added to drop tables without a screenshot. However, like other Items, these drops must be experienced firsthand. Secondhand information still requires an uncropped, unedited screenshot, and credit must be given within the "Summary" of the edit. See this Secondhand Observations Thread for more information.
Please note that these changes do not prevent Wiki Masters from requesting screenshot verification if they find it necessary. If there are questions or concerns regarding a dropped Pet or Spell, a Wiki Master may still send the editor a PM asking for a screenshot, so it is always recommended to have one "on file," just in case. See this excerpt from the Wiki Rules: "Screenshots of your own first-person information is not routinely required; however we reserve the right to request such proof."
And finally, these updated rules do not prevent you from posting screenshots, if you find them necessary. It is still acceptable to post screenshots and link to the thread, as you would have done before. This change simply allows an easier editing experience for newer users, while still allowing Wiki Masters to review edits for accuracy.
*All future edits from the date of this thread's posting will no longer require these screenshots. All edits made before this thread will still require a screenshot on either the Pet Drops on the Wiki or the Firsthand Observation Threads.*
If there are any questions about this change, please ask in this thread and a Wiki Master will answer.
Thank you for reading and helping to improve the Wiki!
