Why do they always have to do these things when beastmoon is going, do it on those lame off events like spiral showcase so people actually have time to participate.

Believe it or not, I nabbed Smallest Eel-type fish last year. And now it's time to seek another prize. Ooh, this will be fun.

The stakes are high. With Zero Fishing Energy active, there will be a lot of competition. Cheer me on!

I don't plan to be any competition, but I am fishing for the bobbleheads I'm missing. It's frustrating when I get repeated seeds and music scrolls instead, but I keep casting anyway...

Silly question about most epic, etc. Do they need to be individual types of epics, or can they be of the same kind? like 30 grumpy catfish vs. 30 different types of fish? thanks!

If I remember the details from last year's contest correctly, you can catch multiple of the same kind of Rare/Epic/Dekoi fish. Each one will add up to a collective total that determines your score.
