      Extracting Azoth

I did not see any system message or anything from the Alpha: Guild Crafter just now, but my Death wizard has learned how to Extract Spiritual Azoth:

At present she has 5 Elemental, 3 Harmonic and 2 Spiritual Azoth in her possession, and I remember donating approximately 10 of these reagents previously. I don't remember the exact amounts, but it seems as if Refining 200 Azoth is possibly the threshold for being able to Extract Spiritual Azoth at a Card Crafting Station.

I think it's just a random drop when you're refining Azoth. On one of my wizards I received an Extract recipe the first time I refined on him (i.e., the very first ten Azoth refined).

Well, that seems to make it a very bizarre system!

      Re: Extracting Azoth

I think it's random. I received it fairly quickly on my first 2 wizards, but didn't keep count and didn't notice since there is no pop-up and I wasn't looking for it.

I just refined 300 azoth on a new wizard and received no transmute recipes. I'll keep going, for science

EDIT: Add another 100 azoth, still no recipes.

      However
, I did apparently craft FOUR trained Athena Battlesights!! Yay me. Fortunately it didn't take my spell reagents to do that (i.e., amber et al), nor did it actually craft/add to my spells. I didn't receive refined azoth for those attempts though.

      @Arthur Wethersfield -- any thoughts?

Another 100 azoth this morning. Still no recipes. No Athena spells either FWIW.

So that's a total of 500 azoth and no crafting recipes. Definitely random or adjusted drop rates as I KNOW it did not take this long on my first 2 wizards.

Another 100 azoth into the alpha crafter. Success!
      • Received an extract spiritual azoth after 30 TC azoth
      • Received an extract harmonic azoth after another 20 TC azoth
      • Remaining 50 azoth did not yield a further transmute spell

You do kind of get notified when you get the transmute. Instead of reading "spiritual/elemental/harmonic" the notification shows "refine azoth (10)" on the notification. I never noticed while spamming azoth previously. That indicates a spell has been written to your book. You do not get refined azoth back when that happens, so I ended up with 8 refined to donate with the 100 TCs.

      AND GOT IT!

      Here's the notification you get.

Another 70 azoth to collect all 3 transmute spells. This was a lot more total than my first 2 for a total of 620 azoth. I'm tempted to do another -- maybe later.

      It's definitely random.

      Re: Extracting Azoth

Is the general consensus still that the amount of Azoth refined, or the level of the wizard, has no relation to when/whether they receive the recipes?

I've refined tons of Azoth with my main wizard who's been crafting for many years, but she hasn't received a single recipe. Another wizard on that account, in a different guild, received one recipe after about fifty Azoth. My level 40 on another account, who had literally just completed the first crafting quest, received a recipe the very first time she refined.

This is crazy! I don't know how to plan my Azoth distribution. I'd like to get the recipes on my main wizard, as the level 40 is an extra to the guild and might need to be dropped if someone else wants to join. But I don't see a lot of point to refining endlessly with no way to control the outcome.

      Has anybody figured this out?

I don't think so. You can see my experience above on one wizard. That was on a L105 wizard. I just pumped through a few thousand azoth to get my wizards up to speed. One has the ele/spirit/harm recipes, I stopped with the ele/spirit on a level 30 (that's good enough and probably took a few hundred), and I churned through thousands on the one to get the school refines. I didn't count. I still need ice on him. The RNG is real.
