      Do you like using feint?

I sometimes feel like this spell has mixed feelings involved with it. It's a spell that makes fighting bosses fairly easy and there's even cheats that specifically address the spamming of this spell (as though its been permanently marked in player culture to always learn this spell in any wizard). Once you learn Potent Trap in Azteca, fighting bosses will become even easier as players have 3 different feints at their disposal which is enough to take out most bosses without trouble. But is it too easy? Do players really need feint? What do you think about the culture in the community about feints (the expectations to have it, those who's roles it is to always use it)?

Honestly, I almost never bother with it at higher levels because first, many of the bosses will just remove it or trade it back, and secondly, with the damage and critical at higher levels it's not really necessary. I've never focused on one-hit kills, as a Life wizard I've always kind of whittled away at the enemies. My Death wizard and even my Myth uses Feint far more often when soloing, but in a Team Up situation, there is usually enough power in the group.

I stopped using Feint on my Storm but my other wizards still have it in their main deck. I wonder whether or not I should simply get rid of those feints as well since they're very capable of winning a battle without them (even more so then my storm since they're all max level while my storm is close)

Re: Do you like using feint?

Unless it's absolutely necessary I rarely use it on my non-death wizards. On my fire especially (who doesn't have it trained) where most bosses are 1v3/4s that turn spent using feint could be better spent shielding or healing if need be or just attacking and hoping the dead minions don't respawn if/when I die. Plus there's also the fact that most cheating bosses have anti-feint cheats these days so there'd be no point in using it on them.

I've nothing against the spell personally and do definitely acknowledge the situations where its uses outweigh the drawbacks, but I do think people over rely on and over-hype it too much (we do have other traps too you know).

Being I box, I always have a support wizard that uses it. Many of my supports are trained up to feint.

As an ice it was my go-to spell in the earlier worlds. I needed it for the damage and could absorb the 30%. I soloed just about everything so my boss fights were feint on the boss, blade, blade, Frost Giant.

But as @Willowdreamer pointed out, now that Iím getting into Mirage itís just not worth it. The bosses take it off or put it back on you.

In a team up itís worthless unless there is clear communication between players. You can really pack a punch if everyone knows whatís going on, but usually the feint is just wasted. Iíve taken to removing it from my deck unless Iím teaming up with players that I know.

Re: Do you like using feint?

I still train my wizards in it and use it often in the early arcs of the game on my smaller wizards. On my higher levels, as @Willowdreamer pointed out, there are so many bosses that trade it or remove it (even with Indemnity) that it's no longer that helpful. If I encounter a boss that it still can be used on though, I still will use it. Since I'm usually running my Fire and Life together, I find Backdraft to be a better option.

When farming for Dragoon Gear or drops to craft, it is used quite often.

      That is level 150 gear.

Re: Do you like using feint?

Other than my death wizards (because they learn it naturally), none of my other wizards learn feint. None of my wizards, including my death wizards, have used feint at all since the day I first began playing Wizard101. I just don't really like the trap it places on my wizard since that could make-or-break the fight I'm in. Besides, I have my own school trap that I can use free of charge and with no trap being placed on me. If I'm in a group farming or fighting a hard/impossible for me to solo end of world boss and someone casts feint for all to use, then that's really the only time I use it.

I've actually turned not using feints at all into my longest running challenge. It's fun, keeps the game a challenge (because there are people who want the game to be harder without giving up using feints lol), and I never have to worry about whether a boss had feint cheats or not!
