Lady Cat is gone

Hello folks.

I may have out-stepped my "bounds" or authority, but something was just shared that I though, deep down in my heart, needed to be shared with everyone.

The following message was received from one of @Lady Cat cubs:

This is Lady Cat's kid. Lady Cat passed November 1st, 2021. I just got back on the computer and wanted to let you all know. It is hard right now, but Wizard was a big thing for a long time and I didn't want to leave this on an unknown ending. Please cherish those you meet on here, I know you all were a big part of her life and Wizard was important to her. Thank you all and I am sorry to have to give this news.


I really don't know how to react. @Lady Cat, also know as Stephanie to many of us who were close to her was beyond a special person to me.

I learned so much from her, not just about the game, but about life itself. Years ago she was the one who would PM me to remind me that no matter how bad things seemed, it could always be worse and that for many, it was. I do not think I could have come to terms with my fibromyalgia or the other issues related to it without her example and counsel.

No matter what she went through, she was always strong when others would have given up.

Now, she is in a wonderful Savannah looking over her little cubs...and all of us. Heaven just gained a special angel and we have all gained a special Guardian Angel. I am sure that she is enjoying her W101 memories with @Lady Stormrider and they are both laughing in those memories.

I will now turn my prayers to her family in this most difficult of times.
@Jester, is it possible to do something special on Central to remember her by? Perhaps an emoji of a mama leopard or something?

@Sparck, I have a special request of you.

@Lady Cat did so much for Central as well as W101, and in the same manner that they honored @Lady Stormrider, I would like to suggest something for her too.

@Lady Cat loved pets and fishing; so would it be possible to either see about KI creating a Lady Cat pet with cubs or perhaps re-skinning the school of fish to be a leopard Lady Catfish mama fish with baby leopard cubs?

Love and prayers Steph, I will miss you so much but I am glad that for the first time in years, the pain is gone.

I would love this thread to become a permanent place that we can all share our memories of her so that future generation will know not only that she was dearly loved, but why.

This is such heartbreaking news

I loved @Lady Cat and her whimsical but wise personality here on Central. She's been a pinnacle here for years. I can't believe she's gone, but I know she was dealing with some medical concerns in her part of the world.

I sincerely hope she becomes a permanent symbol of love and wisdom in Wizard, the same as Lady Stormrider. Bless their beautiful souls, and all souls in our community that were outstanding members that have faded quietly into that new realm.

I really appreciate you sharing @Pegasus Unbound, else we would have never known what happened. May we cherish memories of her, her posts, her witty wisdom, and her adorable mama kitty personality.

She was so beloved and she helped so many, including myself. I sincerely hope Lady Cat's family knows how much she was loved here by the Wizard community. I can't help but cry, this is such shocking news to mebut, I know she wouldn't want us to weap for her. Please consider commemorating her memory in some way @Sparck, @Vanessa Mythdust. I imagine she would love being made into a beautiful mama cat, perhaps even with angel wings. Just something beautiful to represent and remember her by - always.

It's sad to see a true pillar of Wizard101 Central leave us, but I hope she's gone on to a better place. When I first joined Central, it felt like @Lady Cat was under every thread purring with her iconic signature that still makes me softly chuckle!






It'd be nice if Central could do something to help honor Lady Cat, perhaps @Flash33 and Central Staff could organize a memorial walk through Wizard City to start?

I have just gotten over having a good cry and am thinking a bit more clearly.

Reading the loving messages, I began to think of something...

If they did make a special pet in her honor, perhaps they could use it as an annual fund raiser for a charity that she would have appreciated? @Willowdreamer, you knew her better than anyone in my opinion, do you know of any suggestions on what kind of charity she would have liked to see supported?

I say this because when they did the memorial Stormrider Hare mount in honor of @Lady Stormrider, it lost it's significance over time as just an annual free gift. After awhile, many people didn't even know where its name came from or why; it just became a free collectable. Having a pet that would bear @Lady Cats name AND be a way to help a charity would help keep its importance going.

I'm just so shocked; the last time I heard about the situation she was still recovering from health issues. She's been such an integral part of this community for so long that no longer seeing her posts in the forums is a difficult thing to imagine.

I still remember continually trying to keep her "word morphing 2 the sequel" alive along with her years ago. It was such a fun thing to do after getting home from school.

I wish her peace wherever she may be, and I send my condolences to all her family and friends.

I can't believe I'm hearing this. @Lady Cat has been through so much this year. I had hoped she was healing but knowing she shared some of the same health issues as my husband I was afraid of this. This is such a huge loss to this community. She was always one of the first people to offer help and spent countless hours helping newbies or veteran alike. Lots of times even duel boxing when needed.
God Bless you Stephanie and your family. You're not in pain anymore and finally free of it all.
