      Play or Hold'em

Ratatoskr, Pigsie, Reindeer Knight and perhaps a few other cards can no longer be enhanced with Gargantuan because they were made Spellements.

I'm lucky enough to have a few of these enhanced cards in my side deck.

Question - Should I play these enhanced cards, or should I keep them - hoping in the future I can trade them - or keep them for sentimental reasons?

Frame them and hang em up in your Castle is what I recommend. Using such cards would just be wasteful, and with enough Empowers you can purchase rare TC's like Simplify or FC cards.

You are totally correct - but since I worked hard to get and make them, I'm gonna keep them.

      Re: Play or Hold'em

That stinks a bunch but I never really utilized tc enchanted rat spin or have tc enchanted anything as of late so these changes will hardly effect me. I only enchanted spells with tc gargantuan/colossal back in the 3rd Age PvP days.

I don't think they've changed the fact that they're no trade but hopefully one day there will be some bug that Ki will turn a blind eye to and you will be able to trade them for something valuable.

      Re: Play or Hold'em

I am deeply saddened that I can no longer make lower pip cards into treasure cards. Before spellwriting, on all 4 of my near max characters, for the past 8 or so years, I regularly created and used premade attack spells in almost every battle. Using premade enhanced attacks from my treasure card deck allowed me to always find and have a right-sized hit when I needed it. Now I have to rethink my entire battle strategy. I truly dislike spellwriting and am totally bummed!!!
      Happy trails!

      Re: Play or Hold'em

TC cards resulting from card enchants were originally meant as a simplified way to get back a card that could have fizzled or wasn't cast due to a premature end of battle. It was made so that you weren't wasting the TC used on the card, nothing more.

And back then you had less spells and smaller decks, so it wasn't a big issue to enchant cards on the go.

Then people began taking advantage of this system to make a full TC deck and play PVP with it; meanwhile decks enlarged and more and more card fit in them.

We ended up with deckathalon decks allowing 60 TC and giving extra buffs & stuff. So in this situation, having pre-enchanted cards makes other decks totally obsolete.

I can understand that under these terms, it was decided to limit the recycling. But that doesn't mean you can't enchant anymore, it just means you need to enchant 'on the go' as initially planned.

So although you can't use the 100% TC decks for that, you still have the opportunity to play as you did before, just add less variety to your TC slots to make sure the enchant will be there when you need it (without discarding half of the deck).

As of the cards you enchanted already, I'd say keep them for some special occasion. For example, some 10 years ago I saved cards that are now very rare, and I ended up needing them to play the last stage of balance deckathalon a few months ago. You never know when they'll come in handy..

      Re: Play or Hold'em

Interesting thoughts. Just my two cent to say some of us don't pvp or do much of the special events. Our ability to have enhanced ready-to-go small hit treasure cards that are always available us on the same round of battle that they are needed is second nature to us. I am just a casual player who likes to quest and de-stress after a long day, looking for fun, silliness, mild mental challenges and puzzles. I love the creativity of W101! I want to go to new worlds, see new things. Sometimes now its just too extremely repetitive, especially to get decent and needed gear. I truly miss my small enhanced TC hits. Again, just my two cents (which i will likely not spend on spellements).
      Happy trails!

      OMG!
This is exactly how I prepare my deck! I always have enhanced low pip cards ready to battle - especially Ratatoskr's Spin and Reindeer Knight. I admit I'm not thrilled about this change. I guess I will need to learn to do Spellement - ugh!
