      Question Re: New beastmoon Spellements

Does anybody know if the drop list for these spells TC has been expanded? Also, how difficult will it be to get your hands on the Pigsie Spellements?

      Re: New beastmoon Spellements

You also get the spellements and the recipes for crafting them by harvesting beastmoon school specific plants. I harvested 4 Storm Moon plants and got 2 spellements and 1 recipe.

      Re: New beastmoon Spellements

      Gardening results:

1 wizard harvested 6 Death moon plants, got 5 Spellement Recipes, NO Spellement, 1 Life Moonstone, 1 Ice Moonstone

1 wizard harvested 6 Balance moon plants, got 4 Spellement Recipes, 2 Spellement, No moonstones

1 wizard harvested 3 Elemental moon plants, got a bunch of Spirit and Elemental moonstones, NO school specific moonstones, NO spellement recipes, NO spellements.

How are we supposed to plant school specific moon seeds, if we can't get school specific moon stones to craft the seeds with? 2 school specific moon stones out of 12 school specific moon plants ain't gonna cut it, especially since they raised the recipe from 2 to 3 moon stones to craft a seed. And no recipe to craft school specific moon stones.

I have a big inventory of school specific moon stones now, but using 9 stones to craft 3 seeds and MAYBE get 1 stone back isn't self-sustaining. And how many spellements do we need to upgrade a spell? When we won't be able to get the spellements because we ran out of seeds to plant and harvest to get the spellements? Because we ran out of stones to craft the seeds with.

Oh, that's right. Just buy the new super spellement packs. CLINK, CLINK.

      Edit:

Just harvested another 3 elemental seeds, and this time I did get several school specific moonstones, 6 school stones, 1 spirit, 1 harmonious ans 2 hunter stones.

Well good news. After around 150 harvests while using gardening elixirs (so, 300 harvests) and a large collection of hasty harvest cards, I have collected enough spellements to...get about halfway to upgrading a spell past the initial level.

And I thought I didn't like Beastmoon before. It is getting out-of-this-world complicated.

This has been brought up on Central before, but how does KingsIsle expect a Player to be able to juggle all of these events? You have gardening, pet training, Beastmoons, Spellements, Deckathalons, the Scroll of Fortune, PvP, and questing! The sheer amount of time any Player must sink to advance in any one of these systems is gargantuan, but with KingsIsle blurring the borders between everything nowadays it only makes the grind even worse.

Gonna have to agree with my boy Jared here. Assuming the spellements for the new spells are ONLY/Primarily given out through Beastmoon its kinda annoying. I'm not really a huge fan of trying to push certain aspects of the game onto players by only doing side events.

Deckathalon does a pretty good job, there's no real reward that impacts other aspects. Yea you could make an argument that the Deckathalon decks are really good for low level pvp but thats about it to some extent. The participation trophy thing for max crafting is kinda dumb too but I sorta get that one since I do feel like every player should at least try some form of PvP before they decide they hate it (tourneys are pretty fun)

Like I understand the spells themselves are designed for PvP anyways and tbqh the spellemental paths dont really provide a huge upgrade even from base to highest tier, but its still like why force something completely flagged as a side activity on the players in order to upgrade spells everyone can get regardless if you play beastmoon or not.

I do enjoy beastmoon, I've missed like the last 7-8 weeks of the Hunt (never even did the monster mash one or w/ever its called) cause I haven't really been playing much, but now I kinda feel if I wanna ever upgrade the spells (esp the stormwing one) I gotta start playing all beastmoon events when they roll thru

Hopefully its still just early reports since the updates only been live this week and people are only discovering the spellements from beastmoon since it just happens to be going on atm.

I'd like to see the spellements drop from like mid-level bosses as a rare/infrequent drop. The spells themselves are level 42+ so maybe if some random DS-AZ bosses like dropped them as well it would be pretty sick, who know maybe they are drops already!

      Re: New beastmoon Spellements

Making these rewards nearly exclusive to Beastmoon Monster Mayhem is an attempt to make more people play this already very unpopular event. Instead of, you know, trying to figure out why so many people dislike Monster Mayhem.

I'll give you all a hint: THIS IS A SLOW-PACED GAME, A TIME LIMIT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KEPT AS FAR AWAY FROM WIZARD101 AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. The only way that Monster Mayhem can be enjoyable is if you're with a group of other experienced players, but you might not have those among your friends list. And if you yourself are not good at Mayhem, then you just have no chance. You know that it's especially bad when in a majority-pve game the PVP Beastmoon event is leagues more well-received than the PVE Beastmoon event. That's how bad the timer is.

As for the Spellements themselves, well... We get a guaranteed Spellement every time we harvest a school seed, unless you get a recipe instead, but that will only happen for a short while until you have them all unlocked. This, when coupled with getting a few from loot rolls in Mayhem and the overpriced-but-better-than-nothing crafting recipe for them is fine for the most part.

The problems being that the 5-tier Spellement trees require way too many Spellements to fully upgrade a spell. People drone on and on about how how it's not worth all that effort for a small upgrade, but honestly if it was worth it, that would be even worse. Spellements are a great idea and can be implemented well. They have been implemented well before, with the way Karamelle handled them. In the case where you can't accelerate this process with one-time-only quests, like here, then increase the chance that players can receive these Spellements in bulk. Daybreaker and Nightbringer do this (though they stick to the 5-Spellement tree). Another plus to shortening these upgrade paths to a 3-tier form is that you can make each individual upgrade more impactful.

The other problem I noticed is the RNG in all of these Spellement drops. So if they are brought down to a 3-tier path, you would still need a few hundred Spellements to fully upgrade the spell. No big deal, right? Except every time you get a Spellement, it could be one of many Spellements. If you wanted to upgrade Thieving Dragon, you would plant Ice Seeds. But Ice Seeds drop Spellements for the Ice Golem (which makes sense), the Fire Beetle, Fire Golem, Stormwing, Storm Golem, Iron Curse, and the Balance Golem. To hopefully illustrate this: it isn't a 10-minute walk to a burger joint, it's an 80-minute walk to 8 burger joints that are all together.

I am glad that more rewards are being given for playing the Beastmoon events, and I really hope that these can also drop from playing the infinitely superior Hunt. I do agree that there should be no lone singular method for obtaining these Spellements, however. Since they're designed for PVP, maybe they can drop as PVP rewards in addition to both Beastmoon events? You know, the place they were designed for?

i did have high hopes for the new spellements but yet... more of a grind than anything lore spells i can see why they be harder to grind
the new 42 spells should drop in late ms or ds but its locked behind mayhem or key bosses but i guess its to keep us busy for when new stuff comes out
