Should Gardening Plots and Seeds NOT take up Housing space?

For those who are into Gardening for what ever reason. Either your after a Housing item from it or Mega snacks. It feels to me haveing to choose between having the home JUST for gardening cause there wouldnt be much of the space left to decorate cause you needed to put things out to help the plants grow faster OR just not garden at the house. I feel it be nice if the Gardening Plots and the seeds didnt use up the Housing space as you put the PLots down and plant the seeds. If allowing the Gardening PLots and a seeds not count towards the Housing Limit then why not make it where a House like the Red barn Farm which GIves a boost to Most (IF not all) Seeds where we can only Garden there with the Exception of being able to deal with Teleporters there to be able to go to and from those homes OR have those homes come with its own Teleport Tapestry?

Lightbulb Re: Should Gardening Plots and Seeds NOT take up Housing space?

Gardening plots and seeds really shouldn't take up space, but simply removing that limitation would be quite detrimental to the game. The housing item limit exists so that Players with weaker computers can still visit, without their games crashing. Removing the plot and seed limit would be an invitation for disaster!

However, we do need to see a separation of housing plots and seeds. With the game transitioning to a 64 bit client, perhaps only plots and pots could count towards our housing limit? Whatever the solution may be, I do hope that KingsIsle seriously considers giving us gardeners more room (That isn't monetized) to work with!

Cool Re: Should Gardening Plots and Seeds NOT take up Housing space?

If they must be included in the housing count, at least let each seed and plot just count as 1 not 2.

Re: Should Gardening Plots and Seeds NOT take up Housing space?

I agree with Pegasus Unbound, since soil isn't really a "housing item" that should take space; it's literal earth/ground that we may plant on it.
It's great that we can stack the gardens but with the soil+seed double count it doesn't let enough room for some decorating, and the bric-a-brac elixir IMO costs too much for it to be worth it as an alternative.

^ This right here is the correct reason why this probably isn't the best idea. I really wish it wasn't the case, but plots and plants are assets that require resources to render and store. Wizard already isn't the most optimized game to begin with, and a house having 5000 dancing King Parsleys is not something that I imagine the server is well equipped to deal with.

Heck, unless they drastically overhauled the backend within the past year, I could barely get through a full Commons without my screen transforming into a Microsoft Powerpoint slideshow.

Not sure if I understand what you are saying in this particular statement, But, all 12 of my wizards have 3 houses each including the RBF. I have CP and Jewels planted at the RBF and it works very well for me. The RBF is also the only one I decorate. The other houses are all used for gardening only inside and out. I would not appreciate not being able to set plots and seeds at any of my houses. I plant for Mega Snacks ONLY. None are for any housing items. Those few odd items that do drop are either sold, fed to pets or trashed.

All of my teleporters are set up in my dorms so those are not an issue and those can be used to go inside or outside of specific houses. I have Tapestries to all main areas that each wizard has been to along with some they haven't. As for each home having it's own Tapestry, you would still have to have a specific area to hang them and that doesn't work in the dorms.
