Lightbulb Monstrology Events and End of World Rewards Please! :)

      Dear KI,

Monstrology events please and end of world rewards please

I think the following ideas, or versions of it, might help to introduce many players to Monstrology!

More Monstrology fun in the Spiral!

Here are some sample ideas that I think would be fun for everyone if Monstrology events are ever added to the game!

      1. Monstrology Madness! (Non PvP)

      2. Monstrology Blast! (PvP)

      Monstrology Madness! (Non PvP):

      Activities Progress Daily Limit Rewards
Extract 20 Animus 1 Per Rank Unlimited 1 Point
Created a House Guest 0/1 1 Per Day 10 Points
Create a Summon Treasure Card 0/1 1 Per Day 10 Points

Like other events, points earned from Monstrology events will also contribute to Scroll events.

      Monstrology Progress Reward Ideas:
In addition to other common event rewards such as elixirs, stones, spellements, pets, etc.
      - Pouch of 30 Animus (Random Type)
      - Treasure Card Display Case
      - Random Summon Treasure Card (Monstrology)
      - Random Expel Treasure Card
      - Random House Guest (Creature or NPC that can not be created with Monstology, such as Merle Ambrose or other Spiral creatures).

      Monstrology Blast! (PvP):

      Event/Game Goals:
      Race to create Monstrology items.

      Teams:
2 Randomly Selected Teams of 6 (Like Beastmoon) Red Team and Blue Team

      Round 1 Team Mission:
      Each Player must:
      1. Extract Undead Animus
      2. Create an Undead Summon Treasure Card
      3. Place the Undead Summon Treasure Card in a Treasure Card Display case located in the Spiral Ring.

The first team to complete the mission wins Round 1.

      Round 2 Team Mission:
      Each Player must:
      1. Extract Golem Animus
      2. Create a Golem Expel Treasure Card
      3. Place the Expel Treasure Card in a Treasure Card Display case located in the Spiral Ring.

The first team to complete the mission wins Round 2.

      Round 3 Team Mission:
      Each Player must:
      1. Extract Cyclops Animus
      2. Create a Cyclops House Guest
      3. Place the Cyclops House Guest on a pedestal located in the Spiral Ring.

The first team to complete the mission wins Round 3.

The team that wins 2 out of 3 rounds wins the Monstrology event/game.

      Monstrology Blast Event Rewards:

In addition to other common event rewards such as elixirs, stones, spellements, pets, etc.

      - *** Monstrology Blast PvP Trophy *** (Housing Item)
      - Pouch of 30 Animus (Random Type)
      - Treasure Card Display Case
      - Random Summon Treasure Card (Monstrology)
      - Random Expel Treasure Card
      - Random House Guest (Creature or NPC that can not be created with Monstology, such as Merle Ambrose or other Spiral creatures).

Like other events, points earned from Monstrology events will also contribute to Scroll events.

      End of World Completion Rewards:

Just thought it would be nice to receive rewards at the end of completing each world to have something to show for it, other than level cap, badges, etc.

Ideas for end of world rewards:
1 - Random Crown Item, Bundle, or Pack
      1 - Trophy (Housing Item)
1 - Badge Display Case (Housing Item): To display any badges earned throughout the Spiral
1 - Statue of the end of world boss defeated (Housing Item)

Please reply to this thread and/or cast your vote if interested in any of these ideas!
All thoughts and ideas are welcomed!
      Either way....

Thank you all for your time and consideration in advance!

Re: Monstrology Events and End of World Rewards Please! :)

The idea of introducing end of world rewards and rewards for doing Monstrology in general is a neat idea. However, your idea of a Monstrology focused event is very lacking and is basically just a grind animus race, which is neither fun nor interesting. I think a better way to do a Monstrology event would be to make it similar to Beastmoon, but rather than using Beastmoon forms you get actual creature forms to use instead (Lost Soul, Skeletal Pirate, Sanzoku Bandit, etc.) complete with their original spell decks, though most likely with some tweaks to their actual stats to make them more balanced in a PvP environment.

      Greetings Flash33!

Thank you for your reply, support, and for sharing your ideas!
All ideas are welcomed as the main goal is to have some kind of Monstrology event added to the game.

I love the ideas you shared about assuming Monstrology forms for PvP competition, but in to me, that would be just like Beastmoon, which we already have 2 events for (Beastmoon Monster Mayem and Beastmoon Hunt).

I thought it would be nice to have a Monstrology event that's actually more like Monstrology, with a little rush added (timer) to create some excitement in a race to create Monstrology items. Simply something different and unique to its own aspects.

Friends and I actually enjoy grinding animus, creating and collecting house guests, as well as summon and expel cards to decorate our homes!

If a Monstrology event is added, I think it would introduce many wizards to Monstrology as it would encourage many to participate in the event (like others), in order to obtain points towards scrolls and event rewards. I think that many who haven't had the chance to try Monstrology would realize how simple and fun Monstrology really is! I for one sure did! Especially those who like to collect and decorate their homes with unique in-game items.

Thank you again for your reply! I sincerely appreciate it!

      Take care,
      Savannah

HIYA! I just started doing Monstrology to pass the time and do soe decorating I would indeed do it more often if they would add some rewards bonus for the activity though lol. I like your proposals for the most part also hopefully it will lead to something.

      Hi Timmeh!

Long time no see! Totally agree! I think it would certainly entice more people to participate for various reasons, whether it be a love for Monstrology, decorating, scroll rewards, etc.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a Merle Ambrose House Guest as one of the possible/offered rewards?!
Along with other common event rewards and possibly new Monstrology rewards!

Happy Belated New Year and hope all is well!

Last but not least, thank you for your response and support! I sincerely appreciate it!

Seems like an interesting idea, but one that's probably too much of an outlier from other options as monstrology never went mainstream (although I personally do collect a bunch of houseguests and went to some high level). Gardening, pets, etc. all became integrated into the game enough that people did them regularly without having a scroll/event incentive, and are options that produce the almighty dollar through potions. Not really sure what the incentive on KI's side would be for making this, and seems like it would even further squeeze the calendar into making people do events they don't want to do or just pass on the scroll entirely.

      Greetings Grumpy Cat,

I totally agree that gardening and pets "enticed" players to perform those tasked regularly without having a scroll or event, since gardening and pets go hand in hand, and both provide many benefits and incentives all by themselves. Snacks, gold, reagents, talented/competitive/helpful PvP/PvE pets, and housing items (just to name a few).

I think that KI has many incentives for implementing something like this, as it would entice more players to participate in scroll events if it appeared to be more promising that they could actually reach event goals by participating in events, and gain enough event points to obtain the many awesome event rewards.

This in turn could mean more crowns spent on scroll purchases, new and/or continued memberships, expansion elixirs purchased to add castles and/or housing space to decorate and/or store House Guests, framed treasure cards (regular, summon, and expel cards), among many other benefits that it could possibly bring them.

After all, KI hasn't been around all these years without expanding worlds and many other aspects of the game including pets and gardening.

As far as your statement "making people do events they don't want to do or just pass on the scroll entirely," I think that players have their own individual "choice" as to whether or not they feel events are something they want to do, don't want to do, or whether not they have the time, energy, or simply ambitious enough to participate in events, reach event goals, and claim the many unique event rewards available to them.

Last but not least, thank you for sharing your thoughts, I truly appreciate it!

      Take care,
      Savannah

This would probably make it harder to get points though, because you have to put each thing into the rotation of a finite number of weeks in an individual scroll. It's a sum zero game where adding one event takes out another (or at least one occurrence of it), and this would probably be one of the least popular events given the way it fits into the current scheme of things. So if the scrolls had unlimited potential or ran concurrent events, this may be an option, but given the current system, it would be a huge mistake to pull a better performing one in favor.

Guess they could swap out something like this for mayhem though, as that seems pretty meh. Definitely a potential to expand, but pretty unlikely and would probably just go in as extract x on a showcase line without being the center of an event. Realistically, I'm probably undervaluing the option and you're probably overvaluing, but regardless, monstrology isn't too popular. For those who do it, a lot of big decorations are from trades in the underground empower market too.

Players certainly have choice, but this is all occurring within limits where we presently have a set cycle of about one event per week. If you remove something more popular with easier to get points, the probability of increasing scroll engagement is slim to none and would probably actually be regressive depending on how popular the alternative replacement was. While I'd like a few more alternatives as much as anyone else, think this would fit into the too grind-y complaints game already has while adding no net value.

      Greetings Again Grumpy Cat,

I can't say that one event or aspect of the game is "least popular" or "in favor" over another as you stated, since I have no access to any statistics of the game. Additionally, there would be no statistical data to compare Monstrology events to Beastmoon events since Monstrology events don't exist.

Nor can I say that adding Monstrology events would add "no net value," as you stated, since I don't have any statistics or breakdown of KI's financial data.

I'm also not sure how "easier to get points" equates to "probability of increasing scroll engagement is slim to none." If anything, I think it would increase the probability of scroll engagement.

The only way to accurately state that one aspect of the game is more popular, favored, or lucrative than the other, is to actually have statistical data to determine it, which at this point, none exists as far as Monstrology events are concerned.

I don't think that adding Monstrology events would take away from Beastmoon events since Beastmoon events would continue to rotate in the events cycle. Rather, I think of it as an additional option within the events cycle for everyone in the Wizard101 community to participate in, and earn points toward both the individual event and scroll event rewards.

I think that it would provide many Wizard101 patrons a simple and fun way to earn points towards event rewards like Spiral Scene and Spiral Showcase events, aside from more challenging events like Beastmoon and Deckathalon events.

Thank you again for your replies and sharing your thoughts!

I would do the monstrology event.

Unique end of the world loot would be cool.
