I realize this post is from a while ago, but I saw this post and wondered what would happen if you tried carrying on with a pet even if it has "failed"?
I lost the exact DNA of my life kookaburra due to my old phone breaking, but it took within 10 hatches at the kiosk to grant me a pet with my preferred talents.
I don't remember the exact names of my talents as this was years ago, but I think they were
Energizing Battery, Life Bringer, Pain Bringer, Spell Proof, and Pip O Plenty.
I didn't do much research at the time (I was like 15 and playing casually) so I just took a pet to Adult and then, regardless if the talents I wanted had popped, as long as it wasn't a Selfish Talent, a card, or a School Specific talent I used it to hatch with a new pet with my preferred talents.
I'm not sure if I just got stupid lucky, or if it really is a more time
efficient way to train pets!
