LOL, you managed to dredge up a strange memory from days long gone by! Back in the 70-'s and 80's there was a Professor at UCLA that actually taught a course in "demented" songs and music. He thought that some of them actually reflected and had a lot to say about society at the time the song was written. His course was so popular that he even got his own national radio program that I listened to all the time...he was Dr. Demento!

One of his favorite tunes was about your little birdie...

I loved Dr. Demento. It used to be broadcast on a station here from on Sunday's from 9 to midnight. I'd set a cassette recorder to tape his show each week.
