Amen to this!
Yesterday, the old house reached a milestone. Interior wise, there is only one room left to finish, the Den. This was part of the addition that was done back in the late 70's early 80's and it measures 14' x 27'!! To insulate this huge room, they layered old ceiling tiles on the ceiling; unfortunately they were the old asbestos tiles. As part of the restoration, I removed the entire ceiling (I mean I actually "suited up" including respirator and goggles and tore the entire ceiling down, bagged it and sent it for proper/safe disposal). It took a lot of extra work because you need to be super careful with asbestos, and on top of that I had to replace some of the beams.
Yesterday, I finally finished the beams and installed new fiberglass insulation. All that's left is to have the dry-waller close it up and the room can be painted. Once painted, the interior is complete (Except for the final touch of carpet and flooring) and I just need to make the exterior "pretty, pretty, nice, ,nice" (Which can be done while the family moves in). I stapled up the last sheet of insulation at 6pm, went home and watched the world cup soccer match.
Soon, The family that has been waiting, will finally be able to move in and start the loving process of turning this house into a Home.
This morning, instead of waking up at 6 or 7am, I slept in till 10am, made a quick batch of fresh cinnamon rolls and a pot of coffee. I am sitting here now with a roll and cup of coffee enjoying a morning of doing nothing. The US Men's Soccer Team plays today and I can't miss that.
I just want to thank @AluraMist and all the Central Members who contribute to this thread. You have all given me so much indirect and direct strength and encouragement with the fun and loving posts, jokes, music videos and so much more.
Thank with all the love and hugs I can muster,
