Tales of a Soul Servant

Hello everyone, flash333 here, and today I'm bringing you a story I've had mulling around my mind for a while now. Please note that this story will be told in a style similar to the play, "A Raisin in the Sun", which is why it seems weird, but this is probably the easiest way I can tell stories like this, so I apologize for confusion.
Anyway, lets get on with the show, and I hope you enjoy my story.

Chapter 1: The Beginning.

Everyone knows the story of Malistaire Drake and how he tried to bring his wife back from the dead. That's one story; but now, here's another one.

???: Wake up, wake up, it's time to wake up.
Prandine (awakens): Wh-where, am I?
???: You are in The Crown of Fire.
Prandine: The, Crown of, Fire?
???: Yes; this is where you were defeated at along with Malistaire Drake.
Prandine: I was defeated here? *Gasps* (flashes back to a battle with a group of wizards facing him and defeating him).
Prandine: That was weird. If I was really defeated, then how am I standing here?
???: All your questions will be answered, in time (voice fades away).
Prandine: Hello? Are you still there? Hello? ... Who was that? At any rate, I'd better start exploring if I wanna get my answers.

(Several mintues later...)

Prandine (at the Upper Great Spyre): There seems to be nothing here, except for a crystal and some chests. Maybe they will give me some answers.
Prandine (at crystal): This looks like a good a place as any to start.

(Prandine activates the crystal, which shows images of a cave, an altar, and a dragon, then vanishes back into the podium)

Prandine: Woah, that was, strange. I have a feeling that these will lead me to some answers, but first, I'll check these chests.
Prandine (at one of the chests): Hopefully this chest will tell me what I want to know.

(Suddenly the chest starts to glow red, and a red smoke appears from the chest. The smoke appears in the center of the platform behind Prandine, and takes on the form of a Helephant)

Gurtok Firebender: I am Gurtok Firebender, who dares disturb my slumber? *looks over at Prandine* Ah, Prandine, how have you been?
Prandine: Do I, know you?
Gurtok Firebender: Prandine, what's happened to you? It's me, Fire.
Prandine: I-I, argh, I feel like I should know you but for some reason I can't remember.
Fire: I can see your having trouble remembering who I am. Here, let's get Piercer and then we'll talk.
Prandine: Piercer, that's the person in the other chest, right?
Fire: Correct; he's also my brother, and I'm sure he can help us out as well.
Prandine: Alright, I'll summon him.

(Prandine and Fire walk over to other platform. The chest glows blue, and blue smoke appears from the chest and goes to the middle of the platform, forming another Helephant, but with a different color).

Gurtok Piercer: I am Gurtok Piercer, who summons me from my slumber? x looks at fire x Fire, how are you my brother?
Fire: Fine, Piercer, but our friend Prandine is not.
Piercer: How so?

(Time passes)

Prandine: I see, so somehow being reborn damaged my memory.
Fire: Looks like it.
Prandine: I must recover my memory.
Piercer: Well let us help you out.
Prandine: You sure you want to help me?
Fire: It's the least we could do.
Prandine: Thank you, my friends. Then to the cave we go.

Chapter 2: Through the Howling


Prandine: This is The Howling Cave, correct?
Fire: Yes, this is The Howling Cave.
Piercer: It feels, different some how.
Fire: Yes brother, your right.
Prandine: Strange, it feels like I recognize this place. x gasps x (sees an image of 2 wizards in red and a person with a staff)
Fire: Another vision?
Prandine: Yeah. Let’s keep moving.
Fire and Piercer: Right

(Minutes later, they arrive at a platform surrounded by lava)

Prandine: This is the place I saw in my vision, but there’s no one here.
(Piercer looks up and notices something)
Piercer: WATCH OUT!

(A bolt of magic strikes the platform)

???: Who dares trespass here?
Fire: We come in peace, honest!
???: Oh, is that so?
(a cloud of black smoke envelops the platform then clears, revealing a man)
???: Oh, it’s only you three.

(Prandine looks at Fire and Piercer)

Prandine: do we know you?
???: Oh, my apologies, allow me to introduce myself, I am Marek Thistlethorn.
Fire: I think I’ve heard of you; you’re some sort of a magician, correct?
Marek: That’s right, and I’ve heard of all of you. Forgive me for attacking you, things haven’t exactly been the most peaceful around here. Follow me inside, and we’ll talk some more.

(Inside Marek’s home, and the trio explain what’s been happening)

Marek: I see, so you’re on a mission to recover your lost memories.
Prandine: Yes, that’s correct. Recently I saw a vision of you as well as 2 magicians clad in red. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about this, do you?
Marek: Ah yes, the Forgotten Lavalords, I’ve had a run in with those two a few times before.
Piercer: What are they like?
Marek: They’re a group of wizards who excel in fire magic, but because they’re so ancient, they’ve been long since forgotten by most people. It’s not surprising you haven’t heard of them before.
Piercer: Do you know exactly what they’re doing?
Marek: My guess is they plan to get their names out there like in the days before the dragon titan.
Fire: That would explain why you look like a ghost.
Marek: Yes, when the Dragon Titan’s armies invaded this place, I set up a barrier to keep most of them out. I’ve been hiding out here ever since.
Prandine: Interesting. Well thank you for taking us into your home, but we really must be going now.
Marek: Hold it!
Fire: What now?
Marek: I’m coming with you. Anything to get me out of this place. Besides, you’ll need my help if we happen to run into the lavalords.
Piercer: You sure about this? What about the titan’s armies?
Marek: Oh them, well don’t worry about them.

(Marek chants ancient words, and a clone of Marek appears on the platform)

Marek: There, now if they do attack, this clone will protect my home.
Prandine: Marek, x smiles x thank you.
Marek: Don’t mention it. Now let’s get going, I believe we should go to the Dragon’s Maw next.
Fire: The maw, why there?
Marek: It’s better this way, just trust me.
Fire: What do you think, Prandine?

(Prandine thinks)

Prandine: If he thinks it’s the safest place to go then I trust him.
Marek: Thank you. By the way, how did you manage to get past the lava to here?
Fire: Oh, just a little magic, is all.
Marek: Hmm.
Piercer: Don’t worry about it, let’s just get going.
Marek: Yes, your right, next stop the Dragon’s Maw.

(Time passes, and the group arrives at the Dragon’s Maw)

Marek: Well, this is the place.
Piercer: So it would seem.
???: So, you came after all, Marek.
Marek: Who’s there?
???: You don’t remember us? Well let us give you a reminder, heh heh.

(Suddenly a pillar of flame appears on the back of the walkway, and two figures emerge from it)

Marek: So, it’s you two, the Forgotten Lavalords.
Lava: So you do remember us.
Lord: Too bad it’s too little to late.
Prandine: So are these the ones you were talking about?
Marek: Yes, and it looks like we’re gonna have to fight them to advance.
Lavalords: The four of you against the two of us, ha, this will be fun.
Piercer: Bring it on!
Fire: Brother, you sure about this?
Piercer: Trust me, I’ve got a plan.

(Piecer walks to the center of the platform)

Lord: Heh, good luck getting past us.
Lava: We’re gonna make you regret ever stepping foot into this place.

(Prandine, Fire, Piercer and Marek have arrived in the Dragon’s Maw, but in order to continue, they have to defeat the Forgotten Lavalords. With Ice taking up arms against them, will he be able to defeat them, or do the Lavalords have a hidden secret of their own? Find out next time on Tales of a Soul Servant).

Chapter 3: The Lords of Lava
--------------------------------------

Marek: I can’t believe he’s gonna take them both on by himself.
Fire: If I know my brother, he has a plan.

(Piercer and the lavalords stare each other down)

Lava: Fireball, attack!

(A fireball forms in the Lavalord's hands, then he launches it at Ice)

Piecer: Tower, shield!

(A spiral shield appears in front of Piercer. The fireball hits the shield and dissipates into smoke)

Piercer: Nice try, but you can’t get me that easily.
Lava: So it would seem. Heh, this should be interesting.
Piercer: My turn now, prepare to feel the sting of my sword!

(Piercer swings his sword twice, sending ice shockwaves towards the Lavalords. The shockwaves then make contact with the Lavalords, damaging them)

Lava: Ouch, that kinda stung. It seems I underestimated your power.
Lord: (thinks) Hmm, if he has this kind of power, then…
Piercer: Hey, if you wanna stop now, I won’t blame you.
Lavalords: Us? back out? Ha! You obviously don’t know what we’re capable of.
Piercer: I grow tired of this talk. Take this! Snow Serpent!

(A pit of snow appears and drops from the sky. Then from the snow, a serpent of ice appears)

Piercer: Attack!

(The Snow Serpent charges at Lord)

Lord: Oh please; Snow Shield!

(A shield of ice appears in front of the Lavalord, intercepting the serpent)

Lord: That tickled. Brother!
Lava: Right. *starts to chant ancient words* Come forth, my mighty beast!

(Multiple rings of flame surround the platform, and from the flames, a creature whom what looks to be a Helephant rises)

Lava: My Helephant will take you down.

(Just then, the veins on the Helephant start to glow orange)

Lava: Now attack!

(The Helephant raises its sword)

Marek: That’s not good.
Prandine: Piercer!
Piercer: I got it. Tower-
Lava: Melt!
Piercer: -Shield!

(Just then, the Tower Shield breaks apart, and the Helephant slashes at Piercer twice in a row, severely damaging him)

Fire and Prandine: Piercer, no!
Piercer (struggling to get up): What happened? Why didn't my Tower Shield work?
Marek: The reason it didn’t work is because he used the spell Melt.
Piercer: Melt? what’s that?
Marek: Melt is a spell that dispels the next Ice spell the target tries to use; in this case, it made your Tower Shield unable to work.
Piercer: What a dirty trick!
Lord: We’ve been around for so long we know how to deal with Ice magic.
Lava: Trying to defeat us is pointless.
Prandine: Piercer, I’m coming to help you!
Piercer: No, stay back, I got this.
Prandine: But ice-
Piercer: -I said I got this, okay!?
Lava: What a fool, brother let’s finish him off.
Lord: My thoughts exactly.
Lavalords: Ba, koo, wa, kee, o, ooh, shets, e.

(A spell seal appears in front of the Lavalord)

Lavalords: Geo, quesa, leepa, Bokua!

(The platform splits into two pieces)

Prandine: Wha-what’s going on!?
Marek: This can’t be good.
Fire: Piercer, be careful!
Piercer: Noted.

(The lava begins to rise up, then bursts into the sky)

Lavalords: Prepare to face our strongest attack!

(The lava then begins to take shape and form)

Marek: No, not that! I can’t believe they’re resorting to that!
Lavalords: Arise, Eternal Phoenix!

(The lava then explodes, then once the smoke clears, a bird made up of pure fire is all that remains)

Phoenix: *screeches*

(The Lavalords have combined their powers to summon the ancient, eternal Phoenix. Will Piercer be able to win against this mighty beast? Or has he finally met his match? Find out next time when Tales of a Soul Servant continues.)
