Reagents are items collected in game to create something else in game. You can take a recipe (available from the crafting "instructors") and following that recipe, make the item you bought the recipe for. There are three types of reagents.
Normal Harvest Reagents (1st Type) : These are reagents that can be gathered while questing. They can also be harvested from plants while gardening.
Rare Harvest Reagents (2nd Type) : These can be collected while collecting Primary Reagents. They are a rare drop from them. An example is Acorns. Acorns can be found while collecting Mist Wood. Acorns are a secondary Reagent to Mist Wood. They can also be harvested from plants and or transmuted when you reach the appropriate level to transmute reagents. That will be covered later on.
Tertiary Reagents (3rd Type) : These reagents are what you obtain as drops from battles throughout the spiral. They can also be harvested from plants and or transmuted as well.
Where can I find the reagents? Normal Harvest Reagents can be found on the ground in all worlds. Here are some pictures of what we will call normal harvest reagents from here out....
That's all well and good but what can I make? Intermixed with each world map section will be a list of items that Vendors (in that world) will offer for sale that will help you along your journey through the Spiral. Many items from gear to housing items are offered and available for Crafting.
So, now you know what your looking for, now we need to get you started as to where to look.
This will come in handy. It's a Map Legend for the Reagents located on the Maps. Look at the color assigned to each Reagent and then locate that dot on the maps and you will know where to look to find those Reagents. If you do not see a Reagent at the location provided on your map, don't fret. It simply means that the particular Reagent you are looking for is not in the Realm in which you are in. Realm "Hopping"* is a great way to locate a lot of Reagents in a short amount of time. Search the Realm you are in currently, change realms and look again. The Reagents will not be at every location in every realm. We realm hopped many times to locate as many respawn locations as possible. This is simply the results of our realm hopping and where we were able to find them ....
Close to the end of Wizard City is when Gardening begins. At level 12, Milinda Wu will call you with a quest. This will be your start in Gardening. What does Gardening have to do with Crafting? Good question. Gardening provides a constant supply of reagents of all kinds that saves many crafters from having to go out and collect on routes within the worlds of the Spiral. Although the plants gardened will drop other items ... treasure cards, pet snacks ... for our purposes, we will only concentrate on the reagents that are dropped and from which plants.
Each world that has a plant vendor offers at least one plant that will yield reagents of one form or another. Here are the vendors of the Spiral and the Plants that they offer ...

* These plants may rotate during the year as not all plants will always be available or some plants will be added during a particular holiday. Also, the price may be reduced during certain sale times.
Check the Crown Shop periodically for any changes that KI may make.
Plant Seeds are also available throughout the Spiral as drops. Check your backpack for any seeds that you may have won during questing and you can also check the Bazaar for some additional seeds if you come up a little short at planting time. Note however that some seeds carry a "No Auction" tag so not all seeds will be available via the Bazaar. Happy Gardening Young Wizard ...
