The Shadow Wraith

Needless to say, last time I wrote to long and got logged out. This time, I am going to COPY the whole thing before i post, just in case, lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
History books-Chap 1.
Fiona stretched her arms as she walked outside into the cool October breeze. All Hallows Eve was right around the corner, and it was as if she could reach out and touch it.
The days seemed to drag on before this day. They'd go by slowly as ever as school was busier than ever, making everything--slower.
But alas, it was October 28, just three more days before Halloween popped out and screamed, "Boo!" like he did every year.
And it was true. Halloween was Fiona's best friend. Halloween was named that because he played tricks on everyone all year long, though saving his best for last. One of them was to pop out in a costume and scream, "Boo!" To scare the daylights out of anyone.
Fiona took a deep breath and stepped off the step. Her armored boot buried itself into the tall, soft grass. Before winter, it would be yellow and crunchy, but it was still good for now.
Fiona chose Wizard City as her destination, and walked through the door. She found herself looking at gold leaves. All around her was wood. She was in the world tree, inside Bartleybe, the GrandFather tree, whom she loved. But all the trees meant something to her, each different and unique. One time Bernie, the fire tree, gave her a helephant treasure card on her birthday, as he always does.
Fiona watched the lower level wizards go into the door, and come out of it. Golden leaves fell on her hair, which she pulled out and tasted.
The only thing greater than Bartleybe's golden leaves is their taste. Arthur Weiserfield once said, but until then, Fiona had yet to try one.
And it was sweet like chocolate.
Fiona exited the beautiful sight--a hard yet neccesary task. She passed Proffesor Weiserfield.
"Jolly good day for a stroll!" He suggested, taking off his hat and bowing to Fiona.
"It is, isn't it?" Agreed Fiona as Arthur put his hat back on.
Fiona thought she caught sight of something darting tree to tree. She thought it looked like a Wraith. Had Bandit escaped to come with his beloved owner? Or did somebody else's get out? Maybe someone's spell got lose. It happened rarely, but when it did, it was a dreadful task to get the raging spell back into it's card.
Fiona entered the Life school-her first class out of three. When Fiona was seven, she was enrolled in RavenWood magic schools of arts. Proffesor Ambrose told her to meet all of the teachers, which she did. Fiona found out she was Death like her mother. Her Father was Myth. Then, just a couple years after her that, both parents were killed. Nobody knew what killed them, but they were never found.
"Welcome, class, to the Life school. Please be seated, class will start in a minute." Moolinda said in her usual, calm voice.
Everybody was seated and Moolinda began the lesson.
"Today we will learn about charms and healing, a great strength in the school of Life. There will be a small test afterwards, but otherwise, it will be a short lesson. Please get out your notebooks."
Everybody got out their notebooks, in which their pens came right out of the ink, and began writing down questions for the test, as usual.
"Charms and healing are one of the great powers of Theurgists. There are assorted healers and charms, a couple do not even come in spell form. We will go over each healing spell in all of the spiral." Moolinda said.
The class groaned. Every healing card? That was like, fifty!
But after a couple hours of being bored, class was dissmissed.
"See you tomorrow for your test results!" Moolinda called to the chattering class.
After a couple more hours of learning a sweet new Necromancer's only spell--called the Death Globe-- and going over Krokotopian history with Alhazred, Fiona found herself seated across from Alhazred in some hot water.
"You must start remembering, Fiona MoonWalker! One thing I cannot abide is forgetfullness! Where are your history books, Ms. MoonWalker? I need those history books!" Scolded Alhazred.
Class had ended fifteen minutes ago, but Alhazred had asked to speak to her in private after class.
"I'm sorry, I must have missplaced them. I'll bring them tomorrow, I promise!" Fiona apologized.
"You said that yesterday!" Snapped Alhazred, banging his dry fist on the desk.
"I know! I know! But my friend wanted to know if I wanted to go to the salon with her, and I said yes, so I was really busy." Fiona said. It was true, Tasha had asked Fiona if she wanted to get some super cool highlights at the salon, and Fiona couldnt refuse! But she knew Alhazred probably wouldnt get the importantness of highlights, so she left it at that.
"Bring them tomorrow or else!" Alhazred warned, sliding a book into his desk. He looked at her in beady eyes.
Fiona whimpered and darted up the latter, eager to get out faster than ever, but her armor weighed her down and she couldnt get out as fast as she would have liked.
Fiona was on her bed, stroking her Wraith's tattered wings. Bandit meant so much to her, and the fact he was already dead meant an everylasting friendship.
Bandit cooed in Fiona's arms, for he loved his master. But today Fiona wasnt interested in playing Catch your Arm bone in her pond, for she needed to find those history books!
She'd looked for hours in every place imaginable, under her bed, in her closet, in her dresser, even in the bathroom cabinet! But no, she couldnt find a thing.
Frustrated, Fiona made a lousy dinner of macaroni (underdone) and vegatables (overdone). For a beverage, she whipped up some lemonade (At least one thing at dinner wasnt horrible, for Fiona had her Dad's lemonade making skill.)
They both ate in silence. Both owner and pet knew something was wrong this Halloween.
Reading up might help, she thought as she chewed through a tough carrot. It's always good to read. Maybe this Halloween'll be special.
And it was going to be, but not in a fun way. It was going to be special in an awful way.
Re: The Shadow Wraith
Chapter 2--The Wraiths revenge
Fiona washed the dishes. Bandit tugged at her dress (Which was tough armor as well). Fiona bent down.
"What do you want?" she asked, giving him an eskimo kiss.
Bandit climbed down from Fiona's arms and went into the pantry. He took out a box of brownies.
"You silly goose!" Fiona teased, taking the brownies from him. "But ok."
As Fiona made the brownies (As Bandit likes to call them, "Fudgies") she read on the side of the box about a great book called The Wraith's revenge. Fiona wondered if she had it--she had a library of books.
After eating, "Fudgies" Fiona headed up the steps and to her library at the far end of the mansion.
She looked through each book but found none.
Maybe the libarary has it, she thought as she went down the steps. They ought to have something.
"I'm going to the library, Bandit. Come with? You can pick out a book for tonight." Fiona said, picking up her pack that was flopped on the floor.
Bandit made a noise like, cooo! and slid right over to Fiona's side. He might have been a Wraith, but he was loving, affectionete and, dont tell him i said this, but, wimpy. He still slept with all his stuffed animals.
In a matter of minutes, Fiona and Bandit were in the Library. A line of wizards stood at the front desk, to either buy treasure cards or check out a book.
"I'm going over there," Fiona explained, pointing upstairs. "Stay in this section, you might get scared up there. Therer are some pretty scary books, so stay down here. Promise?"
"o...k..." Bandit choked out. (Bandit had just started learning some English. His vocabulary consisted of, "story" "bed" "food" "fudgies" "stuffies" "no" and "ok.")
Fiona left Bandit in the Diary of a dog section, Bandit's favorite short series.
Fiona looked at all of the Scare Your Pants Off section. It took her a few moments before she found what she was looking for.
The Wraith's Revenge was the title of the large book that was in her hands. There was a skull on the front. It was a large black book with a golden spine. It was locked, too. On the front it also read, "DO NOT OPEN"
Fiona rolled her eyes.
It's probably only there to scare you. She thought as she tucked the book under her arm and walked down the steps.
"All ready Bandit?" Fiona asked. Bandit was, sure enough, looking at the Diary of a Dog series. He picked a yellow book off the shelf.
"Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!?" Fiona read the title.
Bandit nodded.
After they checked out their books, Fiona teleported home. ("no! no!" Bandit pleaded as he held her tight. "Yes! Yes!" Fiona insisted)
Once home, they ate lunch, played some ball, had a swim, ate dinner, made a play and finally, it was bed time.
Bandit came up to Fiona and pointed to his book. Fiona smiled.
Bandit sat in his small, (pink) bed, with his (pink) blankets curled around him and his hooded skull pressed into a (pink) pillow.
"Diary of a Dog, Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! By Ashley LifeRider." she read aloud to Bandit.
Fiona turned the page.
"One day, Dog and Cat had a play date. Dog wanted Pizza. So did Cat. 'Pizza! Pizza! Pizza!' They all said." Fiona showed Bandit the colorful illustration on the page.
After reading for a while, Bandit drifted off. Fiona closed the book and crawled into bed with her own book.
Fiona opened the book despite the eerie warning.
November 8, 1829
Today I studied the evelotion of Wraiths in Mooshu, our farthest world explored, though I hope more are found.
I found that a Wraith is not what I thought it was--an evil person deceased and brought back to life--but I found they were started by simply binding bones into cloth and saying an evil chant. Then the undead creature will rise. People have cruelly bound them into cards in a way I would most rather not explain. Some demestocated these Wraiths to be a gift to any Necromancer over level 48 as a gift for fighting hard and not dying even in the Novice days when everything seems a challenge.
I have found little out, but I will continue my search if it kills me.
Best wishes,
A.
Do Not Read On
Fiona shivered and closed the book. Is that really what Bandit was? She looked over at him, helpless, fast asleep in a sea of pink, how could he be evil?
Fiona shook it off (despite her worries) and snuggled into her bed. She fell asleep fast, but she was unaware that she made an awful, fatefull mistake.
She left the book wide open.
Chapter 3--Warning signs
Fiona woke up that morning with a cramp in her neck.
She rubbed it as she opened her eyes and slid out of bed.
Fiona found her book wide open on the floor. She had no clue an evil had been released in the night.
"Hi, Bandit. Want some Lucky Charms?" Asked Fiona as Bandit crawled into her arms.
"Yes," He croaked. His voice was crackled naturally, making him impossible to understand. But Fiona understood.
Fiona poured cereal for Bandit and herself. Bandit ate all the marshmellows almost at once.
"Pace yourself," she said. "Two bowls is the limit. let's not make it go down in five minutes."
Bandit obeyed and slowed his eating.
A knock at the door stopped the pleasant morning. (At least Fiona thought it was pleasant. She hadnt opened the windows yet.) Fiona got up to answer the door. Bandit put his head in his hand and watched.
Fiona opened the door and stuck her head out.
"eww!" she exclaimed, looking at the sickly yellow sky swirled with gray. Not a cloud in sight. Crows fluttered around her trees. (She had so many)
She was about to close the door when a wave of water came crashing towards her. She let out a shriek, but not before she was drenched. Out of nowhere, Fiona's friend Halloween appeared.
"Halloween!" Fiona scolded, shaking the water off. "How could you?!"
Halloween was Death like her. He had red hair, freckles and wore red glasses. He was nice looking but had a bad temper and a reputation for being a trickster.
"Hi Fiona." Halloween greeted. He stepped inside. Fiona glared at him through blue eyes glistening with tears. She knew Halloween couldnt be trusted. He was always playing pranks. But today she didnt feel good. And Halloween just invited himself into the house right after he drenched Fiona.
"Hey, Bandit! How you doing?" Asked Halloween.
Bandit cooed and high-fived.
"Still eating that cereal?"
Bandit nodded, ashamed.
"He's fine!" Fiona barked, although not meaning to.
"Just trying to get him tough!" Halloween claimed.
Bandit flexed his (scrawny) arms, trying to say, 'I'm plenty tough!'
"How cute!" Fiona said, reaching down to pick Bandit up, but Bandit pulled away. Fiona knew Bandit didnt not like her. This happened everytime Halloween payed a visit. First Halloween would question Bandit about a stuffed animal or a food he liked, Bandit would act like he didnt like it anymore, then when Halloween left, Bandit would go back to his old ways.
"I'm telling you, Fiona, Bandit isn't a puppy!" Halloween teased, welcoming himself downstairs and into the living room.
He sat on Fiona's good sette, shifted, got up, walked back upstairs and into Fiona's bedroom.
"What's this old rag?" Halloween asked, lifting Bandit's (pink) blanket high. It was torn and dirty.
Bandit snatched it away, threw it in the trash can and crossed his arms as if he was pleased.
Halloween was sneered. "I'm out of here!"
Then Halloween ported away. As soon as he did, Bandit retrieved the blanket.
After washing Bandit's blanket and setting it on his bed, Fiona read more of the book.
I'm not sure what date it is, for I've been captured this day. I may never make it out.
I've learned some Wraiths are affectionate, others bloodthirsty. It must depend on the Wraith.
However, I learned of a Wraith called Shadow Wraith, an ancient demon Wraith who lives in the shadows. He hides there and strikes. Once bitten by Shadow Wraith, it is said you both dissapear forever.
I believe someone is coming down to the cage in which I am confined to. I hope I make it to see sunlight ever again.
Do Not Read On.
Fiona began to wonder if the sky and crows were all warning signs. Had she released the Shadow Wraith? Was he in her house?
Fiona decided it could just be coincidence. The Wizard Competitions were only a few days away.
Wizards celebrate Halloween all day. For humans it is only at night. For Wizards it is an all day celebration.
The day starts by going door-to-door and asking for apples, pies or flavored elixirs. Then, there are the Wizard Competions in which GrandMasters compete on their mounts for a victory and the title, "Wizard Of The Year". Then, there is a party and trick-or-treating.
A vase broke from somewhere in the house. Fiona identified the room it was coming from. Her room.
Fiona rushed upstairs, for that was where Bandit was napping. Bandit was right next to a broken vase, looking scared and sad.
"Oh, Bandit!" Fiona said, looking at Bandit who was ready to cry.
They hugged and Bandit explained in Rollan (Language of the Wraiths) what had happened. He'd gotten up (for a glass of milk) and accidentally knocked down the vase.
Fiona believed him, but there was only one problem. The vase was on a high shelf. Bandit could have never reached it.
