      I don’t see Wizard101 Guilds as being so complicated. On the contrary, I see it as a great opportunity for members of Central101 to play, learn and share together, as well as defeat other Guilds in battle.

      If we are not ready to grab “Central101” as a Guild name, another player will.

      It does not need to be an official central guild, just one made up of mostly central people I think.

      Question Re: A Central Guild

      OK, I don't want to sound stupid or rude, but would someone please help me and start at "square one".

      What is the difference between a Group and a Guild? I don't play any other game online, so while I understand the basics of a Group here on Central, I have no idea/background to understand what a Guild actually is. As an example, I know KI is planning to start Guilds, ok so as far as I know it is a glorified team up system. But now we are talking about Central having a Guild? Would this Central Guild interface directly with KI or what?

      All the issues about how many members can be online or whatever, or leaders and such is a bit further along than just understanding the basics. I am sure that I am not alone in needing to understand the basics, so please help.

      We will put it to a vote when the time comes.

      As I see it, Our Central Guild's ultimate goal is to learn as much as we can for the Wiki's sake and to have fun while doing that.

      Nobody is going to force anybody to do a Competition if they don't want to and I imagine, based on the Competition Thread I made a while ago, Competitions won't be super popular but that's completely okay. If there's a player in our Central Guild that wants to do some sort of Guild Competition activity, we will hold a voluntary opening thing and if we get enough members on board with that activity, those players join but that doesn't necessarily mean all Guild members have to participate.

      A guild is pretty much a large group, that is all. Guilds would be started by players, not KI. I believe the suggestion was to form one of these guilds filled with or exclusive to? central members.

      Guilds are more persistent then groups in that you stay in them longer and it does not interfere with other things you want to do, its kind of like a virtual home if you will.

      In organizing players this way, KI plans to introduce guild quests and activities. So basically your guild would participate in these. Each Guild generally has a GM or guild master, the person who created the group and is in charge if you will.

      How KI implements this? We shall see.

      Thank you so much, this may have seemed obvious to many but the basic concepts was not all that clear. You just cleared up the "grey" area between the 2.

      It's a great idea, would be good to get a Central Guild going (or multiple if we hit the max cap), I think the staff would need to have some internal discussions once we see how the Guild system will function in game and how we can safeguard players if we're sanctioning (the in-game) guilds here on the forum given the willingness of KI to expand in to other communication channels and express this in game, and Central rules/policy. I don't see a problem (I'll caveat this with take everything I say with many grains of salt....and I do not speak for any official policy yet) with organising guilds on Central and communicating with these guilds on central, but we'd probably establish some rules if necessary, etc. Would be a good way to revitalise the group function on Central as that was always a popular way to organise. I guess we've all got to stay tuned.....

      On a personal note, it'll be interesting to see if you can be part of multiple guilds (apologies if this has already been announced and I've missed it), as I've expressed interest in a few already......would be difficult to just choose one at the moment.

      While there could be a general Central Guild, I think a solution to the issue of a max number of people in a guild would be to create task specific ones; such as a Quest Guild, Pet Guild, PVP Guild, Beastmoon Guild, etc.

      Does that make sense or would it make things too complicated? Again, I am a noob with the Guild concept and am just throwing out my thoughts and suggestions.
