When was the last time you went to a House Party?

House Parties were like THE THING back in the earlier eras of W101's history. Houses full of 20+ players, lots of strangers but also lots of new friends old friends. But I feel like that has really died down now, taken down along with the drive of Ki's best days. I've gone to a bunch before but definitely not recently. I don't think I've gone to a house with more than 3 people in it, even the Top Rated houses didn't have that many players in it. But I'd like to experience it again but I'm not sure if it would still be as popular of a thing to do.

When was the last time you went to a House Party? Was that a thing in back in your earlier years of the game?

Outside of fansite hosted events probably a few years ago. It's hard to find people to come to such parties even if you want to hold one if you don't have things like prizes and such to offer in return for their time, which probably one reason why they've died down in popularity.

It's been years. The entire culture of Wizard101 has changed. Years back players would host parties/events on the whim and because we had nothing better to do, we'd come and invite our friends. Over the last few years there's been a noticeable change: we only really interact with other players when there's a specific thing to do or only go to an event if there's a large prize announced beforehand.

I don't really know what changed everything: if it's the emergence of social media apps which took the place of the leisure hangouts that parties/game events were, or if people have just become more reserved and need specific prizes to make it worth their time.

I’ve never been to a house party.
It sounds like fun and something that I’d be interested in. If people just came to hangout and have conversation, I don’t see the need for prizes.

I think I have maybe attended one or two house parties back in the day, or the then-ubiquitous "Party in ____ School Tower." When is the last time any of us was in a School Tower?

As @JoshyWoshy said, there wasn't a lot to do in the early game for those who had finished the available quests. No side activities, no social media, no Bazaar -- and it was the only real way to show off a decorated Castle at the time. Players had to be inventive to meet up with and make new friends, and to exchange rare treasure cards -- even treasure cards could be rare back then.

Nowadays there is just so much to do in the game. It's a lot longer to get to the end, and even if you have finished questing there is a ton of other things to spend your time on. I generally have stuff I feel that I NEED to do with my available game time.

I was never interested in attending any house parties. Before the days of the Kiosk when the hatching groups were still alive, I went to a few hatching sessions. For me it was just mass confusion with all the overhead dialogue, my chat box constantly moving; I'd have a difficult time trying to see when someone was talking to me. I just figured a house party would be more of the same so I never bothered to attend.

Now days as @Willowdreamer mentioned, there is so much more to do in the game than there used to be it's difficult to figure out what you want to do next.

It’s been years since I went to a house party. I don’t think house parties are a thing any more. I remember when there were “weddings”. There were so many players attending. I’d love dressing up my wizard for the wedding. Some of us players would gift the “bride and groom” items from the Crown Store. I attended Birthday house parties – where gifting was expected. Then there were the house parties to start a clan – those were super strict. Also, there were those house parties where we did Tag Games and Mazes. I believe these game-house parties inspired the KI’s House Tours.

I also remember, once we were in the house party we would port over to another player’s house and another party would begin.

Now, everyone gathers in the Common.

But house parties were mad, crazy, fun time.
