Ice Deckathalon, thru 5/16

Clicking on "Go to Event" does not take you to the event, it takes you to the library so you can buy cards.

Also, when you exit the tower, it takes you to the library again.

It's going to be a real pain having to run from the library to the arena every time.

Why couldn't you leave the entrance to the event where it was? Or at least put a TC card vendor in the arena, next to the tower entry?

Guess I'll give it a pass this time 'round. It's not like I want any of the rewards, or even have a "CHANCE" for a NEW pet. I have too many of the school pets already. Maybe you could give loyal players who have been playing it since the very first one a choice between the pet or something else?

In fact, other than having to buy TC from the librarian, There is nothing at all that has to do with the Deckathalon in the library. Everything has been moved to the arena. So why should we have to go to the library???

Just came here for the same issue. Who tested this?

Teleporting to the library is going to confuse new people I am sure. On the other hand, if it took you to the new pavilion, you still have the tc issue, but you can buy in bulk and avoid some running back and forth at least.

Of course you can leave marks everywhere, but ugh, really?


If you log out, then back in, it will keep you at the pavilion, hopefully gets fixed soon.

Out of habit I hit the go to event button and ran straight to where the event normally happens. I was really confused for a few minutes when I saw neither Gamma nor the "portal" that leads to the event. It didn't occur to me to look in the arena for the event until I remembered the update. Guess someone at KI forgot to fix the go to event button with the update


LOL I didn't even realize that upon losing in the deckathalon it'll take you straight back to the library. Nice one, KI!

@ericstormbringer, what rocket scientist thought that people wouldn't mind having to run from the library to the arena every time? That's the exact opposite of trying to be user-friendly.

You thank @AluraMist for her post, and yet you steadfastly ignore the plethora of complaints about this update. PVPers are p'd off about what's been done to PVP. Even non-PVPers hate what was done to arena tickets, which are needed for things outside PVP (how can they craft for ignus now without access to participation trophies?).

You reward "loyal players" by making them start over from scratch in PVP. And loyal non-member players get the short end of the stick once again. They can't use the "loyalty genie."

You try to push spellements yet again, for low pip spells that long time players (i.e., high level) never even use.

And once again, refuse to fix badge bugs that we have been complaining about for over a year.

If your intention was to discourage long time players, you have suceeded.

I have been doing the deckathalon since it's inception. I finished at #47 in the first ever ice deckathalon, back when it was only 4 stages, and I have the level 12 ultimate runes to prove it. Because there is nothing to use them for. From my grinding, I have at least a level 9 deck for every wizard for every school; one wizard has all 7 level 10 decks, and I was working on getting all my wizards upgraded to level 10 decks. But now I am refusing to do the Deckathalon anymore.

But, who am I kidding? You will ignore this rant just like you ignore all the others.

I see that on day 2, the top of the leaderboard already has 808 points. That's 5 runs of 1 through 9.1, and 1 run of 1 through 9.2. Yeah, right. Guess you still haven't fixed all the exploits.

Edit:

Day 3, top wizard at 1254, means they added 446 points, which works out to 2 runs of 1 - 9.2 AND 1 run of 1 - 9.3.

@Sparck? @Kyle IceWielder? -- I just had a new wizard reach Level 10 and she received the popup from Gamma talking about the Deckathalon Event and to meet Gamma in the Library. This popup needs to be disabled or updated, because Gamma isn't in the Library, nor is he willing to talk to new wizards about the Deckathalon in the Arena or his location in the Headmaster's Tower.

Or you could use the 2nd Mark Cantrip and spend oodles of Energy and oodles of Crowns on Energy Elixirs!

Yea, it's really annoying getting ported back to the library every time you exit. I don't get why it needed to be moved in the first place.
