Adventure Groups and the Social Kiosk?

I think this feature picked the shortest straw of the Spring Update, nobody is really talking about it and as far as I have experienced since Live Realm was released nobody I know has ever used the Social Kiosk. I definitely feel like this is partially due to the difficulty of finding people to join an adventure party and for a lot of players, hardly any of their friends are often online at the same time where they could all be in a group together in order to form an adventure group. Not to mention, most players have various different friend groups that have not met each other enough to feel comfortable being in the same adventure group as somebody they barely know. Another major problem is that it's only individual wizards that are in the friend group rather than entire accounts and some players go on different wizards (the other members of the adventure group will see that person is offline, but in reality they're just in different wizards but they wouldn't know that except when told).

I'm in an adventure group for pet collectors on my Death, which I formed when adventure groups were first introduced except I'm not on my Death very often because I don't have many things to do on him right now. I think that's the same on the other members of that adventure group, it's full of wizards they don't often play on. That's the only adventure group I've been in. I'm on Dylan more often than not, yet not many of my friends have expressed any interests and definitely not many of my friends know one another. But I do want to use this feature more often because it does have some sort of usefulness where we can plan activities in the future.

Anyhow, do you have any experience with adventure groups? Are you going to use the Social Kiosk ever?

I feel like Adventure Groups and the Social Kiosk is eventually going to evolve to a more final form as in customizable Guilds or at least I think this is the idea that Ki is going for eventually. Guilds sounds exciting but only if done right....

It’s called Communication.

We’ve asked for years for the ability to have an in-game mailbox.

A proper developed “Adventure Group Social Kiosk” needs the ability to have an in-game/in-group mailbox.

Without an in-game/in-group mailbox, how can players in these groups effectively communicate with one another? The owner of the social kiosk might very well believe a player is MIA as there’s no way for the player to tell the owner they will be off-line.

It’s called Communication - KI does a poor job of communicating with us so, they build a product that requires off-line communication but leaves out the ability to do so. Just sad.

I once played an on-line war game where we received messages in our mailbox to deploy a certain number of troops on a specific date and time to a specific coordinate. Our team had members from all time zones from all over the world.

I tend to play solo and do projects on my own with the occasional Team Up or a meet up with a social group here on Central. I'm comfortable playing this way, since I've done it for a dozen years now.

I'm not really clear on how an Adventure Group would benefit me, so If someone comes up with a use for it that makes sense, that could change my answer.

Sadly, I have to say, I am right there with both of you. I have 3 accounts that I am active on and my husband has 2 and, I have enough to do and I can quest on my own, so there is no need for me to join those groups.

Sometimes, I will jump on a baby wiz and go in a busy realm and quest and help people, but that is not too often.

Does anyone know the level requirement for using the Social Kiosk? I tried this morning on a Level 15 and a Level 20, but it gave me the message that I would need to be a higher level.

I was able to access the Kiosk on my level 5 myth wizard. I just gained access to Olde Town too.

I've checked it out a couple of times as I passed by it. You'd be lucky to see even one entry throught all of the slots. People just don't seem to be using it. Part of the reason is that it's in a spot where people pass by without noticing it, because by the time you see it, you're already in Cyclops Lane.
