How often do you browse the W101 website forums?

Lately I've been digging around in the Forums there as a lurker because I've been a little curious to see how much influence the direct site forums has and if this was the place where Ki has been getting these odd, borderline ridiculous if not already, for Test Realm. Like if I could find the context (which I've posted a lot about wondering). But I'm now a little curious as well as to how many of the members here also look (or even use) at the official W101 forums alongside Central as our main resource for discussions.

How often do you browse the official W101 website forums? What do you think about that forum?

I rarely use the W101 website forums. I went over today to check them out again.
I found the forums on Test Realm and the Ravenwood Bulliten to be somewhat useful.

After that, it goes downhill rather quickly. I’ll sometimes go over there to read about cheating bosses, etc..
To begin with, the search function is very non-intuitive.

Let’s take ‘Talking about Khrysalis.”. There are 450 different posts listed there, with 1938 responses. They’re organized by date.
Some examples of the threads are: “Where is Sardonyx?”, “Ice is the worst”. And perhaps my favorite:”I need help and answers”.
Well so do I and I’m not going to find them by going through 18 pages of this.

I’ll head back to Central to look for some answers and although some aspects of our boards can be outdated, they’re pretty good with cheating bosses.

When all else fails, I’ll head on over to my favorite unmentionable search engine.

When I cannot find answers on other Wizards fansites, I will go to the official site to seek answers. When I hit level 130, and could not locate the quest for the Drains, I found there that I needed to finish the first half of Empyrea. It is very rare, and I do not think I have ever posted. No disdain for the main forum, I just find this one to have a better community?

I try to check daily since I am semi-active there as well. Usually I'll just post an idea in the ideas section or the events section and then vanish into the ether for the next 2 months.

But if there's an easy question then I'll answer that too. And then the next day I go to check and see that someone else had replied before I did and gave a better answer.

Generally, only for Test Realm information. Back in the early days, I spent a lot of time there, and it was pretty active, but with the developers and community managers moving to use mainly social media, I find the lag between posts/replies and approval makes conversation there difficult.

At least it is tended more regularly than the Pirate101 boards, which gets its posts approved about once a month these days. It's kind of sad to be replying with an answer three weeks after someone was looking for help.

How often do you browse the official W101 website forums? What do you think about that forum?

Never. I do look at them for announcements and DevBlog posts, but never as a general search.

Overall, the W101 website is "fully moderated" which has translated into your post is always slow to be seen and the actual conversation is lagged over a few days. There is also the "political" aspect of the moderation, which translated into your post/opinion never sees the light of day if the anonymous moderator doesn't want to approve your message. No one sees or hears the scream of the un-approved post. No one knows why it died, either.

I think in all my long years of playing I can count the number of times I visited there on both hands. I have not found it overly useful

Very rarely actually. I generally get all my information and read what everyone is discussing here. When I first started playing I would read the discussion boards on the Wizard site, but once I found this fan site, I've rarely ventured there.
