Final Battle

I finally worked myself up to actually joining the sigil for the heroes battle this morning, only to have the loading screen sit there until the popup box arrived, saying that it couldn't connect to the server -- and now I have to restart.

Maybe I'll study some more and wait until tomorrow. Does anyone have an estimate on how long the final battle will take with a random team?

It really depends on whether or not the players know the strategy. If they do, then it's something like 8min but if they don't it could go as long as 15min or more. But I'd say something of an average is in between 8min and 15min (if everybody does the strategy correctly. also depending on whether plague is used by the enemies)

The strategy for the Final Battle is to blade up, Frenzy second round, and use your 7pip AoE on the Left side only. Then you're supposed to flee (to get rid of the Damage Cap bubble) and come back with full health (I usually go back to the Arcanum to quickly restore Mana without using a potion), and then do the same thing to the Right side.

I'm pretty sure by the 30min, I think it'd be better to restart or do another team up. Team up farming is actually pretty quick since most players who do know the strategy are doing that instead of doing it with it their own team

You don't need to flee to remove that bubble (or at all actually). After Shadoe is gone, you can change it. That and the intercept is why most people go after the left side first.

I don't have Frenzy trained and didn't bother fleeing for the most part. The battle still only took some minutes, nowhere near the scale of hours. It's basically just spamming AoE spells on the left side until they're gone.

Even if someone is stubborn and doesn't flee once the left side is dead, it's manageable since odds are the rest of folks will flee. I think TC berserk would be plenty if frenzy isn't trained, but it's also just two training points and handy to have. The rounds can take forever so I'd say with an uncoordinated/unfamiliar group even up to half an hour can happen, but it's not so bad. The other advantage to fleeing is you get rid of the poison cards (and get some pips back).

Its not required that you Frenzy the second round, its just what people do. You could blade instead and be fine, there's no cheat in the battle requiring you to do an Aura the second round. Just remember to keep the deck small

Also, if you're balance like I am, the strategy some balance players do (I usually do this) is to do 3 different types of Bladestorm (regular, item-card sharpened, and regular sharpened). But at the same time, you need to put in blade, aura, and power nova (plus Epic) in the case there's two balances and the other balance is doing the baldestorms instead. Its not too important that you do the 20% Bladestorm in the case that none show up first turn, in that case I'd just blade up myself and aura like the rest of the team.

I got onto a team this morning, and they were great - patient and accepting and helpful. It took about 20 minutes, thanks for the advice given here.

I never trained frenzy as well (or really any of the relevant main stream spells that everybody loves to spam), but amplify or the school attack aura (I forget the names specifically, but it's the one that boosts your school damage and accuracy while increasing the damage you take from the opposite school) can do the same trick. It doesn't give as much damage as frenzy, but it doesn't give the same incoming damage increase so win-win for those who don't like the major increase for incoming damage.

You could also go for brace as well if you want to add defense. That's what I mostly do.
