Favorite Places to Farm Reagents.

Where are your favorite places to farm for reagents? Whether because its hard-to-find, you need a lot in order to complete a crafting quest, or just want to collect and fill up your backpack.

-I have a wizard farming the whispering sepulcher in the WC Catacombs for alchemical extract, needed for crafting dragoon gear.
-a wizard farming the thieves' den in Mirage for antiquities (and wooden/silver chests and mushrooms)
-a wizard farming the one clearing in ariel jungle in empyrea for aethyr dust (and wooden chests).
--can also farm ariel shore for aethyr dust and comet tail.
-a wizard farming the first two battles in the secret tunnel in ariel jungle for flying squid ink (and jewels)
-a wizard farming Uwe in sweet town in karamelle for sparkling/dazzling jewels (and occasionally things like amber/amber dust/vine/braided vine/glass sliver/spellements/karamelle chunks/toffee beans).
--after joining team up and waiting for team to form, also farms sweet town for pretzel sticks and parchment)
-a wizard farming alkali barrows in mirage for antiquities and fulgerite (and wooden chests).

Note: Chests, in mirage and later worlds, are good for gold and the occasional amber dust/merle's whisker.

-Shocked keys, get from gardening key limes.
-shining scales, uncommon, but can get from fishing chests in elephant graveyard (and other nice goodies from time to time).
-stone block/sandstone, stonetown in zafaria.
-amber, farm Cronos in Hades (I got over 400 before deciding to farm other things instead).

Before Karamelle came out, I farmed Viggor in WC Catacombs for monstrology to get all my wizards up to illustrious. But in the process also got a decent amount of crystal and salts, as well as vanguard boots.

For Stone Blocks I like to farm Caliburn in Avalon. Not sure how it compares to Stone Town (Caliburn has 3 spawns) but with an open area and no enemies it's definitely a lot nicer. Technically the Rock Candy Mountains in Karamelle are even better at 4 spawns and being a small area, as well as being a decent source of Pretzel Sticks at the same time, but I have a constant feeling that I'm missing something whenever I farm there. For Aethyr Dust my personal go-to is the Chaos Jungle. Another smallish place, has three spawns. Really fast once you memorize all the possible spawn locations. And for Karamelle Spellements, Toffee Beans, Karamelle Chunks, and other stuff, I found Nana in the Black Licorice Forest to be easier to solo. Uwe would be better if you got a team though since Nana has a mob fight in front of her that you gotta go through every time. I also wanna point out Khrysalis as a great farm location. Not for anything in particular, but the zones there have a lot of reagents, especially stuff like Ore, Stone Blocks, and Scrap Iron. The Shadow Palace is a minuscule zone that comes with like at least 10 spawns. Bastion and the Silent Market are also pretty good, they're just bigger so it'll take longer to get things.

As a matter of fact, I do team ups for Uwe. Early evening there's usually not much of a wait for a team to form. I'm not there to farm karamelle chunks, etc, I'm there for the jewels. Dazzling 130+ pt health opals, 60 pt (school specific) defense jewels. The other things are just a fortuitous drop. But why farm for just one thing when you can get several at the same time?

But whenever you do Uwe, you have to defeat a gnome in the same fight. When I started farming Uwe, I had just gotten my defeat 100 gnomes badge. I just now have gotten to 900 gnomes defeated, so I have farmed Uwe 800 times.

I'm not sure how many spawns there are in stone town, been awhile since I farmed there, but its something like 3 or 4. And if my memory serves me, there is also a sandstone spawn there as well.

Sweet town, and another city whose name escapes me right now but the one where you have to fight copy qhat, each have 9 pretzel stick spawns.

Unless they changed things since I recorded the reagent spawns in Karamelle a year back, Sweetzburg should have 6 Pretzel Stick spawns, which is the most out of anywhere in Karamelle. Gutenstadt has only 4, but it has 6 Black Lotus spawns as well. I don't really think anyone who has made it to Karamelle will be in dire need of Black Lotuses but I suppose it's still the best place for them.

Lately, I have been farming King Detritus to craft Vanguard and Dragoon gear. I have crafted Dragoon gear that I want for my storm, myth, and fire. Currently, my storm is still working on gear but for my ice.

This list includes the places I go to besides my gardens, just to name a few off the top of my head:

Cat Tails and Water Lilies - Royal Museum outside the Big Ben sigil. The river behind the Northguard fortress.
Frost Flower and Grendelweed - Mirkholm Keep at the pond in the caves.
Ore, Diamond, Sandstone, Stone Block - Behind the housing shop in the Atheneum. Also Shadow Palace.
Amber, Amber Dust, Merle's Whisker, Braided Vine - Sand Squid in Atlantea.
Blood Moss - While farming Abandoned House, and Whispering Sepulcher for Alchemical reagents.
Shocked Key - Crytsal Caves silver chests in Avalon.
Steel - Alorna in Polaris.
Kelp and Aether - Stormriven, and Celestian Empire in Celestia.
Aethyr Dust and Ore - The Reverie, and Inner Athanor.
Karamelle Spellements - Storm Nana and Heidi in Karamelle.

I hate to be a downer, as I used to be quite a Crafter in the early years, but Empyrea Crafting Recipes and Flying Squid Ink really killed my enthusiasm for reagents and Crafting in general. Having to battle creatures over and over and over and over for the chance of a drop has never been my idea of fun, and since they didn't add any sources in Karamelle, or plants that we can grow for it, or even a Amber-like-joke of a Transmute for it -- but a recipe still requires 30 of it -- UGH!

We battle so many squid-like creatures throughout the Spiral, but do they drop Flying Squid Ink? No.

The Catacombs are ridiculous, and Karamelle Chunks are still rare as hen's teeth, so I'll craft the old recipes, thanks!

Every now and then, I'll spend 20 minutes harvesting in Alkali Barrows for Mirage-only reagents, but otherwise my reagent needs are taken care of by Harvesting, Gardening and Transmuting.

You're right about Sweetsburg, there are 9 places where it can spawn, but at any one time there will be 6 places where it has spawned.

But Gutenstadt has the same numbers: 9 places where it can, 6 places where it will. I just checked, and that's what I got.

I have farmed many places in the past for reagents. I remember scouring Dragonspyre realms for Stone Block. Those are much easier to find now, so that is no longer a need. I recently was farming for Comet Tails, which are in abundance in The Galleries, along with many other useful reagents. I farmed Thieves' Den recently for some Antiquities.

As WillowDreamer pointed out, squid ink is a giant pain. I am not looking forward to grinding bosses for that. I would much rather garden for reagents.

Outside Shadow Palace is a sweet spot for a bunch of things still, just switch realms a bunch there lol

Agave Nectar/Leaves are best found in the Mangrove Marsh, specifically in the little garden place near the waterfalls and little house buildings (the toucan dudes would be roaming around that spot).

I usually get most of my diamonds from King Parsley farms (they have a rare chance of dropping amber at elder, rare chance at mature if it's an Ultra) and I get most of my sandstone from Deadly Helephant Ears


I need to get kelp though, ugh too lazy to run around
