Unfortunately we were down to 3 players by then. We gave it our best shot, thought we might even have a chance to win wave 2, but an AOE knocked me out and the other 2 to around 100 pts each. Eventually we did lose in the spiral, and not enough time to try again. I was still running around the map when, with over 3 minutes still on the timer, the monsters won.

      Unless, of course, the timer was screwed up because of the connection problem. I've seen it before where, after losing connection for a minute, the timer had reset to starting time and was incorrect. In which case, we just barely won the spiral first wave before time ran out.

      Just a quick update on some Beastmoon Monster Particulars as food for thought in the future:

      The Trengil Gouger:

      Myth
      Health: 750
      Starting Pips: 2
      Has the Pushback spell that uses 0 pips but destroys and shields and does 75 damage
      AOE: Grasping Ghilan (4 Pip) - Steals shields does 100 base damage with +25% to life

      Usual Minion:

      Harmony Eel:

      Balance
      Health: 375
      Starting Pips:2
      Supporting spell: Accelerate (0 Pips) - Grants 1 pip and detonates Healing

      With this set, it is easy to see that the Eel can boost the Trengil pips real fast. It just needs to use Pushback once, get a pip from eel and hem hit. So basically, wash, rinse and repeat and you have serious damage fast.

      If you are a Tank form like Fire Colossus that has higher health, not so much a problem, but if your teammate is a lower health form, like Elf or Rat, one hit can be enough to leave you solo.

      Knowing your forms AND the enemies is a huge consideration in how each game is played.

      I am using this as an example that it is very important to be familiar with not just one Monster, but that monster in combination with others.

      If the timer was messed up because of connection issues, then I wonder if that's how my team once got 4 extra minutes when I found the time flower. We thought that it was because another person and I got it at the same time (possible, but even in Hunt when 2 people clicked on a chest it only went to the person who clicked first). I know Beastmoon is notorious for connection issues, but this is just wrong. If what Pegasus Unbound suspects is true and it's because the of test realm being out, then perhaps KI needs to time the Beastmoon events to NOT be at the same time as test realm.

      Add this to the list of things that irk me about Mayhem:

      -Spiral battle. We defeated the boss, I watched him die. With about 3 seconds left on the timer. Of course, we had a couple of wizards who hadn't gone yet, so clock ran out and monsters won.

      I know clock is clock, but boss die is boss die.

      Edit:

      So much time gets wasted because we have to sit through animation after the battle has already been won. Especially when the spiral battle is over but we have to wait for an on-going outside battle to finish its turn before we go back to base. And even more especially when we don't get any credit for what happens that turn, such as winning the battle.

      Edit 2:

      While on the subject of time, let's talk about clock management for a little bit. When you're in crunch time, with only a minute or two left on the clock, you have to balance how much good your spell will do against how much time the animation will use. There are some perfectly good spells which will do more harm than good with only a minute left on the clock

      For instance, healers just got to heal. But what good is bringing someone back from the dead if this is the last turn you're going to have time for? One time I was dead, but said "No time to heal. Just hit." And our healer cast the spell that finished off the boss for the win. And he apologized, saying "You said no heal."

      Even DOT spells usually aren't worth it. Sure, if the boss is down to his last 50 points and no one else on your team still living has a hit, go ahead and cast that 50 pts a turn for three turns DOT. Especially if he'll take that first tick of damage this turn. But that same spell when the boss still has 200 life, and isn't going to take any damage from the DOT until next turn anyway, isn't worth the time the animation takes if the next player after you has a spell like troll or shark that will take out the boss. Just pass.

      The pips fairy. Sure, everyone likes getting that extra pip every turn. But if 'every turn' turns out to be just one turn before the clock runs out, is it worth it?

      I don't think I ever lost a match due to half of the team losing connection before. @Sparck, this Beastmoon event has been awfully laggy and suffering from connection issues. Any chance that something can be done to prevent this from happening during future Beastmoon events?

      Has been one flaky event this month. Yesterday in a match, the first and third waves worked as usual, but in the second wave we weren't told to pay respect to the clockfather until after the SECOND battle of the wave was completed.

      I agree 1,000%! It has been exceptionally bad this time. The "Black screen issue" has been pretty bad as well.
      @Eric Stormbringer, can you please look into this? It literally costs us the game over and over.

      I haven't run into that problem (yet), but I did have a teammate literally go missing on me just now thanks to a disconnection. No warning either and everything was going fine up until that point.
