Fun Guy. exclusive pet doesnt have its page on the wiki

Hey fellow wizwiki editors and masters (even though I prefer existence of only one master and one apprentice, no more and no less) I have this pet in my pet tome and in my house and it doesnt have its own page on the wiki (I am not the only one with this pet, I know at least one guy thats probably one of the if not the best pet collector in the game who has it). Here is its picture from my tome:

Is your Pet different? I notice that your Pet's name is a little different with the 'period' and the 'asterisk'. Not sure what this is all about. Any idea where you got that Pet?

Could you post ingame screenshots showing the Talent and Derby Ability pages, then we can look into it.

My first reaction is that this is another 'bug' in the game.

I believe the story is that initially the Fun Guy Pet was released with the name "Fun Guy." with the period, so it was quickly taken down and a 'new' pet was made available called "Fun Guy". The Pets are functionally the same, as far as I'm aware there shouldn't be any difference in Pedigree, Talents, Derby Abilities, etc.

The Asterisk denotes that the "Fun Guy." is an Exclusive Pet, much like the Deckathalon Pets. This means that you cannot get the Pet via Hatching, as KingsIsle probably wanted to stop the Pet from getting out into the playerbase, in favour of the Pet with the corrected name.

There are some other Pets that have a duplicate - I believe the Owl Protege is one of them.

As for how the wiki should handle it - I'm personally in favour of just having a note on the Fun Guy's page explain the duplicate Pet. I don't think a separate page is really needed, but perhaps others might be in favour.

Thanks for the background info Mayo. That's the first that I heard of this.

I'm okay with simply adding a "Note" on the Fun Guy page as you suggested.

Well that explains why I have 2 Bunny Mallows in my tome...

If, I recall correctly, the Fun Guy* is due to a pack being release too soon. It's not counted in the totals. This is also for the Owl Protégé and Bunny Mellows.

Yes this is true for all three of those pets. Not necessarily too soon, but first released with errors like the period after Fun Guy.. Fun fact the Owl Protege was actually released partially trained :D. Only a tiny bit towards teen but still.
