Beastmoon Hunt, Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the match

      Imagine this scenario:

Both sides are at 98 points. There is a battle going on, and both sides have defeated at least one wizard on the opponent's side.

At this point, the team that wins the battle loses the match. Because the LOSERS are awarded their points first, reach 100, and match over.

      How messed up is that?

And then (and here's the kicker) sometimes it doesn't work that way. I was in a battle this morning, the other side was at 99 points and had defeated two wizards on our side (spiral battle). We won the battle, and they stayed at 99. Haven't quite figured that one out, unless it had something to do with the fact that one of the wizards on their side had fled. Can anyone verify this?

First KI pulls a bait and switch in awarding the top reward (25 spellements turned into 5 of a different kind a couple of months ago), shorts me when they do give the right kind (last month 3 wizards got the 25 spellements but the other 3 only got 20, and 2 months ago I only got 7 drops, with no spellement, for winning a match instead of the 8, including a spellement, that I was supposed to get), and now this.

And when I reported those bugs, the ever-helpful "customer support" said that they weren't going to honor the reward that was listed on the rewards table for the bait and switch, and just plain ignored the other two.

Makes me want to stop playing.

Re: Beastmoon Hunt, Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the match

Players have to be defeated for over three rounds in order to be eligible to give the other team points for defeating them. If you're defeated for only a round or two (you are not sent back to home base), you won't give points at the end of the battle. Fleeing should not have any affect on this at all. Last month I had a comeback victory where we managed to win the game despite one of our players being dead at the end battle. And if the battle had taken one turn longer, we would've lost instead.

I do agree that there have been times where defeat points being awarded before the points you get for actually winning the battle has been particularly dumb. I've had my share of defeats that would have been victories if only the points for winning were assigned first, as well as my share of moments where we are so close to winning that I can say "Ok team, just take one of them out and stall for at least 3 rounds, and we win this game." In that case it actually feels pretty nice to have victory all but secured at a score of like 97-84 or so. Like there's an advantage to being that close to victory. The losing team will have to finish their battle fast or make sure that enough of their players are alive once it's over.

Re: Beastmoon Hunt, Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the match

To me, at least, it would seem that at the end of a battle BOTH sides should be awarded the appropriate points and then determine the winner. If both teams break 100, the team with the highest score should win. In case of a tie, whoever won the battle would be the tiebreaker.

Of course, if someone fleeing before the battle was over gave the other team the points to reach 100, then, yes. match over at that point.
