Looking for a new phone: Suggestions welcome.

A few weeks ago my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ phone stopped being able to charge and nothing I've tried short of factory resetting since then has fixed it. Because of that I'm gonna have to get a new phone and transfer data over to it but am unsure of what to get. I thought about a Pixel 5 or a SSG Note 20 but have changed my mind on those.

Any suggestions on what to get (as well as possible solutions to my current phones problem) would be greatly appreciated.

For reference I primarily use my phone for gaming, streaming music/videos, internet browsing and the occasional calls.

I don't know much about phones, but I do know that Apple products nowadays are overpriced, cheaply made, and expensive to repair. So yeah, avoid any iPhones. Good hunting!

Check eBay for refurbished sellers. I got a really nice Samsung Galaxy S8+ from a reliable vendor on there for around $200. The only game I've had trouble with is Sky: Children of Light- turned poor Orchid into a toaster!

If expense isn't an issue, there are phones equipped for gaming that are optimal for Steam Link and Project XCloud.

because they've been trying their best to circumvent Right to Repair. They're reliable though, and a lot more secure than Android phones typically are.

I use an IPhone 8 albeit I'd only call a halfway decent phone and it's really outdated. But phones in general are pricing at around a thousand us dolllars and that's ridiculous in my opinion, especially since the phone itself probably doesn't cost more than 20 us dollars to manufacture (setting aside the intensive and poor conditions to which real people construct the phone with absolutely minimal pay). I'd probably say getting a Galaxy S20 or the generation of galaxy phones prior to that is fine, something that gets the job done but also has some neat features that makes life easier, any phone before that would probably get poor service and anything more futuristic would be unnecessary. I'd just use that until it's broken

IMHO devices are made to last 18 to 24 months. Any longer and the company isn't make any money.

I'm pretty sure Samsung Electronics or Apple doesn't needs more money than they have already, I'm pretty sure as of now there's such an enormous surplus of money that both companies can continue paying off their employees (minimal pay smh) for several years without leaving the companies in any serious threat. The money we spend on each generation of phones is really just making the rich even more richer instead of making the world any prettier...

Since you don't Pixel 5 or Note 20, I'm guessing that you wouldn't want higher end flagship phones. I would recommend you get mid-range phones such as the Samsung A50, Oneplus series, and Oppo Reno 6.
