Are you impressed with the Lemuria Prelude so far?

The Spring and Summer updates of this game have seen two lines of quests hinting on the location and theme of the next world, Lemuria. For those that have done these quest lines (on wizards that have finished the current storyline), what are your thoughts on the Lemuria Prelude? Are you excited for what is to come? Is the theme of "Nothing" and the ulterior motives of "The Great Old One" interesting to you?

      Share your thoughts!!!

Re: Are you impressed with the Lemuria Prelude so far?

The prelude for Karamelle was great because it was connected to the local world's plot, which turned out to be much, much better than the overarching plot of the 4th arc has been so far. This is because you get to go through Karamelle and experience firsthand the consequences that Nana's actions have on both the world and its populace. The game does more than tell you that Nana is bad, it shows you why. And when you eventually do stop Nana, you know that everyone in Karamelle will be much better off now that she is no longer up to her dastardly deeds. This is something that "You must save the world!" plotlines fail to accomplish. Like yeah, the Spiral being destroyed is bad, but who is being affected by this? Yes, literally everyone will be affected if the Spiral is destroyed, but in the meantime? Things are more or less the same. This is why every world you visit has its own issues to deal with. You can't do much with everyone going "Oh no, Malistaire is going to destroy the Spiral. I hope someone stops him."

The prelude for Lemuria, a direct contrast from the one for Karamelle, is all about the overarching 4th arc. In addition to the problem I pointed out in the above paragraph, there isn't much to get interested in here because we still don't know what even is happening. Like, some holes showed up and they got in the way. Some giant dude in a Paradox gear stitch showed up and is... bad...? Secretly good...? A bunch of bees in a trench coat...? Oh, also Cthulhu is confused and confusing. Don't forget about that part. I need to know more about this plot before I can get invested into it. Maybe I'll appreciate this more once I can experience the story for Lemuria.

(Apologies if this gets double-posted, this website has been more infuriating than usual ever since the DDoS protection went up. It's nice to be protected and all but uuuuuggghhhh it's so annoying and I hope we can move past this sooner rather than later.)

Re: Are you impressed with the Lemuria Prelude so far?

I love reviewing the updates (even if I can't get into the game), to see what KI has planned for the game, to see how or what they utilized.

And between the Spring and Summer Updates, I do love that KI has circled back to the Forbidden Wing of the Arcanum; because we have been told the rebel Arcanum members are all bad (even though we found at least 3 members that were saved in Karamelle).

And I'm not trying to provide spoiler content, but it would seem that KI plans on opening up the Forbidden Wing of the Arcanum as a precursor to Lumeria. I love the suspense that KI has offered so far.

My only concern, is will these prequests become canon, when I am finally able to access W101 again? These quests might not seem very appealing, but the small bits do provide filler content.

It would be nice if they kept these pre-quests. I can't think of a reason why they'd remove them later since they do technically lead to Lumeria (and presumably a key NPC we need to get there since he told us about that gate). @Sparck, any chance we can have confirmation that these quests will remain in-game and not be retired?
