      Pictures from @Starbreaker

What are your opinions on these new spells? how would you change them if you could or have them stay the same as it is?

Thumbs up Re: Opinions on new spells?

Honestly, these spells are looking a lot better than the spells added in the Spring Update. They are much more inline with school identity, here are my thoughts on each spell!:

      Frostfeather:
Not sure if the bubble effect is the right choice for Ice. A Bubble that gives everyone 25% Resist or 35% resist to a random school would be a bit more fitting, honestly. I doubt that this spell in it's current state will see much use in PvE or PvP however, due to it's high Pip cost and low damage.

      Thunderman:
This spell could use a slight boost in damage, but otherwise I feel it is quite fitting! I do wish that the animation would be more Storm based in nature, since Evil Snowman is originally an Ice spell.

      Monster Mash:
I'm disappointed that there is no Beguile effect on this spell, but I suppose that'd be a bit OP. That said, I do love the effect of an extra hit if the enemy has a Negative Charm! This will offer dynamic utility in PvP, and because the initial hit is greater it could be useful in PvE too.

      Golem: Taunt:
Finally, Minions are getting an upgrade!! I love the added heal effect on this spell, I just hope that it will be useable on other Minions.

      Inferno Salamander:
The animation for this spell is quite fitting, though perhaps the initial hit could have a bit more damage, for PvE purposes.

      Spite Swarm:
A nice alternative to Pigsie and Unicorn. With Pip Conversion taken into account, this could be quite the daunting spell! And while I have no qualms with this spell, it is a bit disappointing to see Life get another spell lackluster in utility- Theurgists need more dynamic utility spells to survive in this meta, honestly.

      Obsidian Colossus:
A nice reflection of Savage Paw for Sorcerers. It should receive a damage buff though, perhaps to 425-455 Damage to be more comparative to savage Paw..?

All of these spells are looking great, but I have to wonder why KingsIsle can't give us comprehensive update notes. Nowhere in the update notes were these spells listed and thoroughly explained, which is extremely frustrating for me. As a Crowns Player who has spent copious amounts of money on this game, at the very least I should have Update Notes that explains everything, if not access to Test Realm itself. Complaints asides, I'm excited to see these new spells make their way into the game!

      Re: Opinions on new spells?

Frostfeather and Thunderman are your run-of-the-mill hit+bubble spells. I'm a tiny bit disappointed to see that 5 schools have identical spells in this regard. I think that giving every school a hit+bubble spell is fine, it's just that these spells are a bit too similar. Fire's being a 5-pip Lore Spell and Balance's being a Shadow double hit makes them more interesting.

I am ecstatic to see Beastmoon-style conditional bonuses coming to the base game, so Monster Mash looks really neat to me! Idk if it's a double hit or just a bigger hit should the condition be fulfilled, but it's still really cool that this is happening!

Excuse me while I start using Golem Taunt in my max-level Myth wizard's deck for the possibility of a 100% unpiercable Tower Shield. Of course the weakness to this is that if an enemy uses an AoE, you've wasted an entire turn. But it looks sooooo good and I am excited to see what other Minion Enchantment spells they can come up with. Now if only I could somehow enchant Monstrology TC with this spell. That would be such a huge payoff.

An irksome thing about Fire is that due to the existence of Heck Hound, there were barely any other single-target DoT spells. After all, why cast those spells when you could instead use Heck Hound? Well, there were plenty of reasons, but it still got in the way of designing Fire single-target DoT spells. So I'm glad to see that Fire is actually getting a DoT spell.

Sprite Swarm is, well, an alternative Unicorn. It will undoubtedly be very useful to healers. It's just that, well, Life's only thing is healing. I would love to see this school be expanded upon, especially since healing isn't even exclusive to Life (that's not a bad thing, but it's bad for Life when that's their entire identity).

Obsidian Colossus is a sneak peak at the coming Savage Paw nerf. Savage Paw is gonna do that much damage, instead of this spell needing to be buffed to Savage Paw's damage. I guess it's nice?

      Re: Opinions on new spells?

Considering I still use golem on my max myth just to deal little damage here and there, I like that new minion spell. If I want my minion to start taking hits for me, it'll be really handy to have. Not sure how often I'll be using it, though, since my golem has been a real MPV, especially since it lasted the entire Tree Root battle

      Re: Opinions on new spells?

I think the spells are really good this time around, except for maybe Sprite Swarm. Monster Mash, Inferno Salamander, and Golem: Taunt are the best from my point of view. The only complaint I'd have is that some of the spells (like the last batch) are reskins of other school's spells. Not that that's a big deal, it would just be a nice bonus to see some unique looking spells for future releases.

      Re: Opinions on new spells?

      Frostfeather & Thunderman:
Makes sense. Fire, Balance, Life, Death, and Myth have one so it's only fair to add these. If I were to change anything it would be to buff Thunderman to 220 or 225 damage since it currently deals 40 less than bats while the others deal 20-25 less than their rank 2 spells.

      Monster Mash:
Deals slightly less damage for a spell of it's rank but with the added conditional hit it's dealing close to around rank 8 spell damage, and the condition is very easy to meet. It's neat and I wouldn't change a thing.

      Golem Taunt:
It's pretty cool but with it only working on 1 specific minion it seems like it would be a dead draw quite often.
Edit: I didn't notice the spellement path before so it's fine as is.

      Inferno Salamander:
I'm happy to see another regular 3 turn Dot. I was more hoping for Fire Wyvern(With a damage adjustment of course) but I'll gladly take this. The math checks out and I wouldn't change a thing.

      Sprite Swarm:
I'm not sure where you would want to use this to be honest. If I were to change anything it would be the entire spell.

      Obsidian Collosus:
The math checks out but I think the effect is a little weak for it's rank. If I were to change anything it would be to bump up the damage debuff to 30% or 35%.

This minion only generate threat only. With the new threat system you can spam this minion so your forcing your oppenent to attack your minion. This is great against all schools except death. The only draw back is the fact it work as a minion enchant that can clog your deck up. This is major myth buff with you can get your deck working right.

A Pip Conversion Life could easily abuse this spell if they used it consecutively. Since it gives more health overall than Pigsie and Unicorn, you need only spam a few of these and you're set!

Of course, did the Life school really need another heal..? KingsIsle got creative with the new Monster Mash spell, shame that inspiration can't extend here.

      Re: Opinions on new spells?

Question: Isn't Monster Mash, Sprite Swarm and Obsidian Colossus already in game before these newer spells being introduced?

If Obsidian Colossus is meant to nerf Savage Paw, doesn't this kinda point to the notion that KI is running out of original ideas?

And with these kinda newer old spells, will spellments be attached to these as well according to the school?

Sprite Swarm and Obsidian Colossus are, they're just now being made into trained spells though. Monster Mash technically is, but this new version will be very different than what is already in game.
If Obsidian Colossus is meant to nerf Savage Paw, doesn't this kinda point to the notion that KI is running out of original ideas?
Obsidian Colossus is not a nerf to Savage Paw, it's a different spell. The only reason Savage Paw is being brought up is because Savage Paw will soon be nerfed by the ongoing Spell Audit and we get a sneak peak at what damage it will do when it happens.

And with these kinda newer old spells, will spellments be attached to these as well according to the school?
Yep! I got one for the Golem Taunt spell and it's really, really amazing for PVE. Though I can see it absolutely destroying PVP at ranks where you can't one-shot the golem with your rank 4 AoE.

I'll try to find the rest but I really wanna get back to Beastmoon.

I cannot get one for the Inferno Salamander as it requires you to know Scald, which only Fire Wizards can learn and I don't got a Fire.
