NEW Skeleton Key Bosses Sneak Peek!

In this teaser, we saw a Marshmallow and Grendel skeleton key boss. In addition, a new spell and a Gold, Stone, and Wooden key dungeons were shown. All of this upcoming content is in development and subject to change.



A new spell was showcased, Hot Potato Enemy. For zero pips you can push a DoT to an enemy, though what is most notable is that this spell has a cyan background. Item cards have a dark blue outline, so I speculate that this spell will only be available to Wizards in the Marshmellow battle, and be involved in the cheat cycle somehow.

I still have 20 (or more) gold keys that I've been stashing away for a couple years now. I was thinking about using them for Fellspawn, but since no one likes an ice hitter if I'm the only one with good attack, I opted not to. If the new bosses drop anything of interest I might do a few team ups.

Since Fellspawn was mentioned, I pray that they don't have his drop rates and that we'll at least be guaranteed something each run, even if its just 1 spellement or whatever. It's not fun doing multiple runs and only getting a (terrible) seed and some gold.

Yes! This is exactly what I've been hoping for! I've been wishing they'd make a Karamelle skeleton key boss that drops a candy mount, so you don't have to pay real money to get one. I'm really hoping one of them drops a new candy mount, that would be so epic!

So after 4 months from the time Karamelle came out in the Winter Update, is this everything that will be in the Spring Update?

I know I am critical about the minor polishes being made, but everything can't be window dressing for W101 nine months out of the year.

I am amazed at some of the newer graphics in the game, and how KI does keep on impressing us with awesome questlines and such; but waiting every November for actual game content is starting to run its course with me.

@Sparck, @Eric Stormbringer; If the skeleton key bosses of wood, silver and gold are to be a major part in gameplay, why not have someone or several people in each world alert the wizard that a menace needs the attention of the player, and spellements be considered as part of the spoils for defeating that skeleton key boss?

Falmea did say that 2021 would be focused on improving what's already in game, so I'm expecting the updates this year to focus mainly on the entire game systems audit (aside from the world in November, of course). I think this year will basically be them preparing Wizard101 for sustainable future development, and we won't really see significant new content updates again until 2022.

That does seem a bit depressing.

All my wizards were done with Karamelle by the 4th of January, so I tried doing the Golem Underground areas to maintain gameplay, but even with teams I am having major issues with it.

After popping back in about 10 times and failing, I wasn't to thrilled too try some more, because the rage factor becomes more relevant when I cant figure things out.

If I really wanted to play, my only option really is to assist others through a world, or just do badges (earn the badges).
