Spring Spell Update Sneak Peek!

This just in- AoE's are getting an awesome update that will hit all of us! It looks like many AoEs known to drawl on are getting a fix so that they are all simultaneous, a long awaited change. In addition, Fire Dragon seems to be getting a graphical update too! Check out the full sneak peek here, uploaded by KingsIsle earlier today:

Personally, I am quite hyped to see this. It looks like the Spring Update will take a focus on updating older spells and adding new ones, and with luck we'll see the Spellemental system get the PTW cleansing it deserves. I do wonder if school specific Loremaster bosses will be added too..

The sound went out of sync for me around the forest lord/storm lord part. Kinda sad they didn't show the Mystic Colossus in full, that one was probably the one with the most complaints in regards to the cast time. Frost Giant and frog were also high on that list. I'm curious what they will do with deer knight....not the animation....if they will nerf it.

Oh! I actually didn't notice Fire Dragon's graphical improvement the first time I saw this. I Just thought it had a lot of bloom for some reason. But yeah it totally looks way better, even the lava patch on the ground. I remember seeing a Frost Giant model with better textures in a developer diary like 2 years ago but it doesn't look like it ever got used. I wonder if all the Rank 7 creature models will get a graphical improvement soon?

LOL the presentation of IMMUNITY (Belloq's Ra cheat is different now or???) at the end stole the show for me, like what????? Does Ki want to show the world that their stat gauging is broken (which it is) or am I missing something? Immunity is something that exists in the game but definitely shouldn't be allowed. Somebody clarify me why Kingsisle will show Immunity right off the bat like that...

Anyhow. I'm gonna miss the old animations for the spells (except for Deer Knight because omg that is some slow stuff), it's the end of an era. Oh well though I'll easily get used to not waiting 10 seconds for a 4 enemy mob Scarecrow on my Death Wizard and rejoice at the new deer knight. The new Forest Lord is eh, Idk how I feel about claw scratches as opposed to smacking tree trucks at my enemies it's less destructive.

I'm pretty pleased with this part of the update BUT this better not be it. Updating the animation (Idk if the graphics of the spells are 2021 updated since I can't really tell except for the world Frogdude is wrecking before throwing up... for all I know it's still the same graphics as 2010 but just presented differently). Changing the graphics doesn't really change anything about the game ultimately other than aimless aesthetics. There's plenty and I mean plenty of things that are SIGNIFICANTLY more important to change about the game than animation and Ki better be working on fixing those (with our help......)

I hope they do the little known ones that aren't trained. The worst of them by far (yes worse than Ra, Mystic Colossus, and even old Khrulhu) is Eirikur Axebreaker.

The non life school versions of forest lord uses object. Life forest lord hit each enemy with it hands.

When graphics overhaul is key to getting ready for console. They need to upgrade many areas of the game so console adaption can be realised. But this is a much asked for update by the community and ki finally delivering.

Looking forward to this update and seeing whatever other new things they've done.
Updating these spells is definitely a step in the right direction Thank you KI!

I think it's also worth adding, because this happens every teaser cycle, that KI never shows everything that's going to be in an update. This is clearly one of many new additions as is always the case when they start showing off what's coming.
