Pointless and predatory seems a bit harsh. At least KI has figured out how to make a proper bundle instead of just throwing a mega snack pack into the mix and jacking up the price.

I disagree. While this bundle is undoubtedly better than the standard Mount/Pet/Mega Snack Pack we've seen, considering the facts that it's been over a year since the last classic Crown Sale and that this Pack isn't meta anymore- I think it's fair to say that this promotion is a bit pointless.
Plus, it has been revealed that KingsIsle makes little revenue off of these items, so seeing yet another one being released doesn't fill me with confidence that the Developer's are spending their time wisely..

It's definitely not the meta but I wouldn't exactly say the wands and boots of this pack are completely bad either (they're better than the "free" gold gear you find in the bazaar or most no-auction dropped gear). Definitely not as good as the Primordial Pack or the Sinbad Pack depending on school but it stacks pretty higher than the older packs. Is this a scam? No if a player for whatever reason is intending to purchase 12 Spellement packs, then that player will get an extra pack which is a good thing and the company is not intending to scam people into buying gear that is not part of the meta. The meta (best gear sets) is simply something that players just need to know by inference. But is this promotion at all significant at all, also no because it's not at all game changing.
