I'd like to improve the activities for the Spiral Scene.

I considered awarding points for adding a castle to the tour but I worried that if we did that, players would just remove and re-add the same house everyday. Removing a house from the tour removes it from the leaderboards and clears it's ratings so that's bad. I would like to encourage players to add their houses to the tour but I don't think an activity will work.

Perhaps an activity to buy Castle Magic items or spells would work?

I've been doing the Spiral Scene every day and I think rating 5 houses feels about right (although I find myself spending a lot of time exploring interesting houses) but I think visiting 10 top houses might be around 5 too many.

If anyone has any suggestions for housing activities that would work, please let me know.

Maybe instead of a random tapestry, how about a tear jewel plant for the highest reward? Either that or a recipe for a new tapestry, like something from Karamelle.

This is a good idea in theory, but Players without Membership or access to Marleybone would have to scour Castle Tours for a Babbage Basset to purchase Castle Magic items, which just doesn't sound like fun. Here are a few task idea that could replace the Daily Assignment/Team Up:

      • Activate 5 Daily Housing Rewards (This would encourage Players to visit/explore more houses)
      • Sell 5 housing items to the Bazaar (This would encourage Players to sell unique housing)
      • Activate a Caste Magic Item 3 times
      • Have a Castle on a leaderboard (This would be an extra task that awards a lot of points, but isn't nessacary to complete the event)

None of these ideas are perfect, and they all have their flaws.. But for an event themed around housing, I don't see any way around this.

      @MagicalMe

These are all great ideas! I do think that all housing items should be rare though. We need more ways to obtain Avalon plantlife!

Is there a way to make the option to put a house onto Housing Tours a 1/week reward rather than a 1/day one? That should solve the issue of players putting the same house up over and over.

Edit: As for checking 10 top houses, yeah, I'm feeling 10 is also a bit too much. Especially if you can just visit the same houses every day and port back to Castle Tours immediately. I don't think this task does what it intends to do.

Arthur, can you explain how people visiting a house adds to how you get people view houses? I know friends visit my houses yet those visits do *NOT* seem to count. Can you be more open on how house visits are worked out?

If you're talking about the number of visits listed in Castle Tours, those are only from players visiting random houses for rating.

This is so the visitors are objective and impartial.

If we allowed friends to rate houses, then the leaderboards would be based on who had the most friends.

Bottom Line: I just stop doing these events. I had said once before when they started, it feels more like a chore. I understand that they are trying to keep things going for us, while they work on new worlds, but to have one event after another is too much.

As mention by few other posters, the rewards are nothing too exciting. I really don't want more packs or reagents unless its trophies, salts or chunks. Being that this is a housing tour, something that is housing related would be a much better reward. Either something new or something that was limited time in the past.

I did see people just click on houses till they found their friends house to rate it to be in top 20.

However, there are those who did enjoy just visiting them, like myself. I would spend an hour just doing castle tours and really would look at the castles and would rate them.

Although, few problems I did notice was 1) I would rate a castle, but did not get credit for rating it. 2) I end up seeing the same homes after while. When this happened, I would just skip the castle.

A proposed idea: Not only do they have to visit inside and out, that they have to wait few minutes before they are allowed to go to next home.

Those who have achieved a certain badge is allowed to see more then just 5 a day.

How fair is it for those who are honest only allowed to see 5 castles and might get the same ones that they have been too already? Would they get a chance in seeing another Castle or do they lose that seeing slot because they have been there already? I would think that would be more discouraging then helpful.

How hard would it be for a castle to be locked in for the event's duration, or to prevent it from being added back in after removing it during the event?

You could add a disclaimer that says "For this event, any Castles you put up for Castle Tours will be locked to tours, and cannot be removed until after the event ends. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Suggestion: add a new list next to Visits (when viewing My Castles) and Type (when viewing Top Rated/X) that shows the average rating a house has. It wouldn't be perfect obviously but it would be nice to actually see the average rating of certain houses.
