Spirit Prism, Elemental Prism

The amulet I just received from the Honey Badgers gives the item cards Spirit Prism and Elemental Prism.



I cast a Spirit Prism, and it changed Balance Damage to Myth Damage.

The new Balance Shadow spell Mockenspiel totally should have set up a mass Balance Prism instead of its useless "Convert Blade"! The two Spellemental paths would both increase the damage, but one would set up a mass Elemental Prism and the other a mass Spirit Prism.
While it is nice to see that a Balance Prism has finally made it into the game, unless these spells are properly incorporated onto useful pieces of gear it will never see the light of day. Am I correct in assuming that the stats are not comparable to existing Balance amulets, @Willowdreamer?

Well, the stats don't really compare to my crafted Alphoi Amulet, no. But now that the item cards exist, perhaps there will also be prism jewels?

I could certainly use this amulet on my Life wizard in support of a Balance hitter, but I can't see the Balance wizard themselves using it in place of what they may already have.

balance is one of the harder schools to master besides myth. it remains more popular as it is easy to use that school as a booster school for a main hitter. one of the reasons hydra and elemental blast used three different schools was an alternative for the balance prism. later on you could use shadow spells against a balance opponent. now that prism is needed as you need those shadow pips for the more powerful balance spells. it might be learned but more likely level restricted.

The existence of these Prisms is already huge, but I really hope that they not only become trainable, but that we get trained Mass versions of them as well. Balance is far behind on the Prism game and I think these should be retroactively added to Alhazred and Ponycorn.

Since you mentioned Mockenspiel, my wizard Jared WildSword received it yesterday.

I saw, have seen that the spirit and elemental aspects of the card is confusing to me as to what it does.

I have only seen this card played once in one of the groves of the Husk, but didn't really understand what happened, other than the possibility that a blade was received.
