Playful Panda Cubs Hatching Question

Hello,

I am attempting to hatch a "perfect pet" (at least, MY definition of a perfect pet). What I want to do is hatch a Playful Panda Cubs pet with the stats and talents of a Calixco Kitten pet (both of which I own). I am hatching in Dr. Purreau's lab and so far I have only gotten Calixco Kitten eggs.

I know that Playful Panda Cubs cannot be used in the Hatchmaking Kiosk, but am I able to hatch another Playful Panda Cubs pet in Dr. Purreau's lab at all? I get that it's a Crowns pet, but I figured since I already own the pet, I would be able to hatch another one just using the lab with two of my adult pets. Is this not the case? Will I always get a Calixco Kitten egg from this hatching? I'd like to know now before I keep spending thousands and thousands of gold.

You should be able to get either pet back; it's likely just bad luck--some pets are stickier than others. Personally, I have my own superstitions about which pet is on the left and right, but it's really just luck.
