Why is KingsIsle again making Monstrology- a side activity- so expensive?? Monstrology's only use is essentially only decorative, so why are they making it so exclusive towards younger, newer, and less experienced Players? I just don't understand this- its Gardening Pixie all over again!

I've always wondered as to why they didn't instead stagger the costs by world outside of WC. I'm not entirely sure of the logic behind making spells in the Oasis of Krok 100,000. Like, what?
Monstrology is already discarded by a large portion of the fanbase (including myself until I really began committing resources to it), so why make it have such a large barrier to entry?
Yet it cannot be called talent to slay fellow-citizens, to deceive friends, to be without faith, without mercy, without religion; such methods may gain empire, but not glory. - Machiavelli // I also write my own stuff ~
I did suggest during Test Realm that 20,000 Gold was much more the correct ballpark for pricing. @Sparck? Can you find out why these spells cost so much?

Let us not forget how expensive Monstrology already is, regardless of the Extract enchant costs. To even begin crafting a Monstrodome, you'll need a large stockpile of gold to create all of those Treasure Cards and to purchase the recipe itself. The cost for creating house guests adds up too! For a side activity introduced at such a low level, it is frankly ridiculous that KingsIsle is asking these Players to cough up hundreds of thousands of gold!

I agree the costs are very high for monstrology as someone new to this area of the game. As a long term player 100k is not hard to get but really for newer members that a lot of gold for largely a decorating tool.
While these new shapes are welcome, it seems to me that there are many, many mobs and bosses we can't collect. As I'm a new to this I maybe getting this wrong but found many in game I could not make house guests for my Death house for Halloween. More updates should be added ASAP.

My guess is to offset the gold we carry being around 530K. Yes it does seem a bit steep, but it helps in unloading gold,

When I'm not playing Skyrim on Xbox, I am playing W101 or P101.
One neat trick about any game, be it on console or computer is leveling up by performing two tasks at once.
And unless you feel comfortable doing this with bosses, I only recommend this for mob fights.
My main decks usually carry 2 hits and 2 Epics, of which, I replace one with the Animus with the respective type I am collecting. And it also makes best selection in using an Attack all Enemies card like Forest Lord or Scarecrow.
Fight mobs like usual, but if you use the Undead Animus when fighting undead creatures with Crow or Lord, you collect towards the number of undead and animus at the same time. They either come in 2 or 3 at a time, and after collecting 10 can upgrade your card collections.
For those that love the Monstorology, this will help you level up fast about every 5 rounds or less.
