      Cost of Karamelle

Does anyone know how much the areas of Karamelle cost in crowns? Previous worlds are typically in the 10-12,000 range, so I'm curious how Karamelle compares.

Decius said in the chat box during the last KI Live that each area would cost 2295 crowns. However, I don't know how many areas there are. Maybe someone else can tell us?

From what I can tell, the last areas in the main questline are cooped up with the Karamelle City group of areas, but I'm not absolutely certain.

For a second that price had me panicking, but when you add it up, it only comes out to 11,475, which is still within the range world prices generally fall and actually a bit cheaper than the more expensive worlds, which typically top out at 11,970; Grizzleheim and for some reason Marleybone price higher. Marleybone is exactly 12,000 Crowns and Grizzleheim is 19,950 (9975 for Grizzleheim proper and another 9975 for Wintertusk).

I'm not liking that individual zone pricing has gone up in general for arc 4, but I AM happy that it's still within the same range of amounts.

Technically, Karamelle is still more expensive, because the zones are much shorter overall than Marleybone and the older worlds (you get less play time for the same amount of money). However, I don't think that is a completely a bad thing since I believe most players have welcomed the less "grindy" feel of the newer worlds.

Aside from WC, Marleybone has always felt like the shortest world to me, which is why it surprises me that it's one of the most expensive in the game. It's also worth noting that Newgate Prison, a very short zone with only ONE main quest, is its own 1200 purchase (technically you get Scotland Yard Roof as well, but it's little more than a small hub area for that section of the world).

So, if Karamelle's length challenges Marleybone's, that's a bit concerning; but, I've also heard really good things about Karamelle so I'm hoping that quality over quantity holds true here.

Personally I think it's more fair to just say that Marleybone is overpriced. The dungeons are all their own purchases (including Counterweights East and West and Big Ben, which should all be 1 purchase realistically) instead of being included with zones, so that drives up the price a lot.

This is a bit unnerving. Typically most zones past Wizard City have zone pricing at 1995 crowns, and some are even higher.

I remember Test requirements were that the wiz must have completed the previous world at the time of Test; so that we could help KI assist in any feedback about bugs or glitches that were awkward, now its all about the members only club.

About the only complaint I could see repeated, is that if the zones of Karamelle are extremely short before passing into the next; KI will continue to lose players because people will feel as if they have been cheated on content at the expense of their money used to buy crowns.

As we travel through the Spiral, some of the expectations is the WOW factor. When I play, read and hear about new content; I am expecting to be blown away by the detail, graphics and gameplay.

For example, I was playing through a zone in Pirate101 and I had to wait 15 days before having 1499 crowns. I was pumped about what I thought was the chapter end in Monquista and was celebrating, but after about 5 minutes of gameplay (main and all side quests available); I ran into another zone that required another 1499 crowns, and felt cheated.

Needless to say I felt bummed that I had roughly one or 2 more rotations before I could enter Valencia.

My point here is this, many of us are hyped about the new content coming. And all of us that have completed Empyrea can't wait to experience Karamelle. Problem here is that if the experience feels limper than the hyped content, players who were locked out of Test will feel like they have been cheated and let down.

Small correction here: most zones were not typically 1995. To the contrary, they actually steadily increase as you get further into the game, so this was expected at some point even if it's not fun to see.

Ignoring free zones, zone/zone bundle prices escalated as such:

      Wizard City: 750 Crowns
Krokotopia: 915 Crowns (now 3500 per due to the consolidation of its zones, but the world is significantly cheaper than before total)
      Marleybone: 1200 Crowns
      MooShu: 1200 Crowns
      Dragonspyre: 1200 Crowns
Celestia: 1695 Crowns (a new temporary standard price up from the previous standard of 1200)
      Zafaria: 1695 Crowns
      Avalon: 1695 Crowns
Azteca: 1995 Crowns (new standard price, and the one most of us are familiar with)
      Khrysalis: 1995 Crowns
      Polaris: 1995 Crowns
      Mirage: 1995 Crowns
      Empyrea: 1995 Crowns
Karamelle: 2295 Crowns (now the newest standard)

It is worth noting that we spent more worlds at the 1995 Crowns per zone point than any other pricing model, so it's understandable that players got more comfortable with that pricing. There are also outliers. GH came out between DS and Celestia, but costs more than Celestia, Zafaria, and Avalon, although this can be attributed to the fact that it's side content and was priced higher as a result.

      As an aside,

I'm not sure what to make of the pricing for places like Wysteria, the Four Dungeons, Aquila, and Catacombs, although one interesting thing to note is that Catacombs' at 6000 Crowns is priced at roughly half the cost of a world (assuming a price point of 11,970 Crowns), while Aquila at 9735 Crowns altogether costs nearly the same price as a cheaper full world (assuming a cost of 9975 Crowns).
