      Reintroducing Class Identity to Wizard101

With the recent changes to crit/block and the upcoming changes to damage/resist, I wondered how they would introduce the identity of each school before we started mixing spells/stats- Jade death surpassing Life's healing, Fire doing more damage than storm, etc.. This is why it would be a cool idea to finally add a talent tree to wizard101, passive buffs that reinforce the identity of each class. Here are a few examples.

Let's say these are the talents you unlock at level 142.

      Fire:
Fire destroys everything in the end, crippling all defenses and leaving nothing but ash.
Fire should passively get +15% pierce
They should also deal +25% extra damage on DOTS.

      Storm:
Storm can either tickle your house or leave it in pieces, a natural disaster that can leave many questioning whether they should stay or book it out of town.
Storm should get +45% extra damage on critical strikes, which should soften the horrible nerf they got with the crit/block changes.

      Life:
Life is all about protection and adaption, facing all hurdles and becoming stronger because of it
Life should give all allies a 800 absorb (+40% of healing done- NOT total healing done) each time they cast a heal or attack.

      Ice:
Ice is the longest lasting, the masters of cold stone and unbeaten health.
Ice should gain +35% extra total health as well gain 5% extra resist when at or above 75% health.

      Balance:
Balance is why the earth produce storms, why the water flows downhill and why life continues to thrive.
Balance should gain an extra pip at the start of combat, as well as +1 extra for each different school they are facing.

      Myth:
Myth is the power of story, the imagination of children, the legends of old and art of masters. They can leave all in awe at the sight of their spells.
Myth should deal +35% extra damage to enemies with stun blocks as well as ignore the stun immunity of bosses.

      Death:
The natural process of the universe, for nothing truly dies but rather transforms into something new, this is called the transfer of energy.
Death gains bonus health ( a shield) equal to 25% of the incoming healing done by their drains. This only works when they are at full health. It obviously goes away once combat is over.

Re: Reintroducing Class Identity to Wizard101

Not a bad idea, it could be a mechanic that could be introduced later in the game as we become better students. Perhaps like a thing we learn when we graduate from the Arcanum, I just think that there should be an implemented cost to this that is different from an Aura. I'd say that this should be started at the start of every battle like a card that will always be there on first turn, you could just turn it on and off like a button.

Signature created by Expelliarmus in Blue Nouveau Designs, thanks!

Re: Reintroducing Class Identity to Wizard101

I'd support school-exclusive perks if they weren't so poorly balanced.
Fire getting 25% bonus DOT damage AND 15% pierce is ridiculous. DOTs are already good at breaking shields, and then you do that to them?
Storm seems like a strong buff, but only if they keep critting. Does it apply to crits that are blocked too?
Life seems like they're be incredibly frustrating to play against in PvP. Every Leprechaun now has an 800 absorb stapled to it? Ugh.
As if Ice doesn't have enough health and resist already. Ugh.
Balance seems kinda meh. +1 pip isn't likely to be nearly as overpowered as the above stuff.
So in PvP Myth just gets +35% damage to everything. Yeah that's not way too strong.
I see you just decided to give Death something entirely useless. Everyone else gets something broken (except for maybe balance) and death gets cruddy overheal which will be useless in almost every encounter.

Interesting concept, hard pass on the implementation.
"Fire can be quenched. Storms can dissipate. Myths can simply be forgotten. But Death... Death is constant. Death has existed long before you came to be and it will exist long after it takes you."

Passive talents are a good idea but spells have to support a school function also.

For example: Myth in higher levels shy away from minions and begin to bend the normal rules of magic. Example pushing dots, trading all hanging effects including dots with a target. Now they can "confuse" a enemy causing them to attack themselves with there own spell. So is myth the minion school still though? If so there should be more lower level spell support for this concept.

Fire is the dot school. But detonate could have 200% damage instead of 100% this will make fire dots prefered give them a handicap of waiting a extra round but bufff dots by making remaining damage 2x which is like a card critical on dots.
