Can "may cast on ally" talents cast the spell on yourself? For example, with the Ally Tower Shield talent?

I have no proof of this but I did put one of these may cast on ally jewels on one of my deckathalon pets a few deckathalon's ago and it did cast on me. Now it didn't cast very often but if you are using this on a deckathalon pet it might be useful. Hopefully someone else out there can confirm this for you.

your character also get the may cast
