Question Level 120+ Ice PvP Help

Hello! With tournaments being free, I have started aggressively entering as many as I can, to rack up on tickets. So far, my deck has been performing well, as I have gotten 4 wins, two 2nd places and placed in third several times. My deck setup is based off of this post by @Zexion, and although it has been working... I fear that it could be modified to be more "meta" now.

But first, some context! I am currently Level 117 (Practically 118), and plan on bringing my Wizard to 120 once I obtain my Mimic Ring. I do not have the best Deck yet- I am still using a Square Socket Rat deck, which I plan to switch over to the Triangle Omen deck once I get that too. I also do not have the best Jewel Distribution, as I am yet to acquire any Pierce Jewels and I like my critical at 33%!

My current gear is as follows:
      • Krok Hat
      • Rattlebones Robe
      • Lydia's Boots (Level 110)
      • Aerocannon (level 100)
      • Wolf's Lancet of Shivers
      • Gem of the Grand Prophecy
      • Alpha and Omega Ring
      • Triple Double Freezing Raincore with Maycast Mass Feint Jewel
      • Arcanum Exile Snowflake Set

I also have a Jade setup, with the following gear:
      • Jade Hood of Mystery (level 110)
      • Ice Krok Robe
      • Mysterious Jade Boots (Level 110)
      • Katana of Takanobu's Wrath
      • Heartsteel
      • Bitter Relic of Horizon Hold
      • Elissa's Chill Band
      • 20% Universal Resist Blaze Fox with Maycast Brace Jewel

All of my 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 matches have sadly been cancelled, so I have not yet tried my Jade setup in the Arena.

Here are pictures of my stats and deck setup. Please let me know if I should make any edits to it and/or my strategy!
*In my Jade Deck, the Spirit Blades represent space saved for Elemental and/or Spirit Blades

Re: Level 120+ Ice PvP Help

      1. Carry more bubbles in main. Maintaining bubble control over your opponent is a huge advantage. Especially on ice, as it's a 35% buff.

      2. You don't need that many enchants or weavers/wintermoon's in main. A stun block will erase the usefulness out of Wintermoon most of the time, and stun blocks are common nowadays in the arena. Instead of that many hits, I'd run more utility spells such as minions, bubbles, steal wards, and blades.(Some sharpen as well, since Ice is all about bladestacking)

      3. You have way too many towers in side. I'd add more Icebirds, TC Blades, and enchanted Shadow hits. Frostbites as well, you'll be using that quite often. I'd also add some TC weakness, and a few mantles when you need them to fizzle. Bubbles are also good here.

Some general tips: Ice is all about bladestacking and setting up, while maintaining your health and gaining small advantages. (Bubble control, minion up, etc.) You have a lot more health and resist than any other school, so don't be afraid to leave yourself open to a hit. Just keep in mind the buffs they have, and watch their Shadow meter carefully. Shrike is usually needed to win vs Ice.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions

Should I put in any Katabatic Winds? I already have one from my robe, which has proven to be useful!

Right now, I have 1 training point but can get 4 more from completing quests. Should I train Weakness? Also, should I learn any of the Shift spells? I have seen a few being used, though I am unsure if they are worth it or not.
I have plenty of pre-enchanted hits prepared that I can use, though I am out of Icebird TC. I'll make a TC request thread later today, but what is the best method for obtaining more? I have been substituting Icebird with Polar Swarm, and I could switch that out with Death Bats as I have some stockpiled.

      Thank you for the help!

I wouldn't carry any, since it's more efficient to use 2 pip bubbles. If someone were to change it the following round, you'd be down extra pips. It's all about pip efficiency.

Weakness is good against any school that uses overtimes. Ice, Death, Fire, and even Myth. I've carried a few in TC as well as main.

I'm unsure of the best method to get Icebird in bulk since I usually just trade for it. I do know while farming for mega snacks doing Winterbane gauntlet I seemed to get quite a few. I'd recommend you get as many as you can, as Icebird is useful in a lot of situations.

As for the Shift spells, Greenoak is pretty good. It's pretty pip heavy, but in the right situations it's a very good spell to have.

Re: Level 120+ Ice PvP Help

Okay so this is the deck I had been using prior to the latest update (I haven't PvPed since the shad spell changes, and so my deck probably will change a little- might need to make it a bit more attack-heavy since the shad spells are weaker). This deck setup was constantly changing but this is the one I ended up settling with and got me to rank 1900 at level 130 Ice 1v1. Notice I have a lot of dispels- they are super important to be able to use for one of your opponent's shrike rounds, and even moreso now that shrike deals backlash based on your max health. Another thing I'd note is that Aegis has become important for shields- although this might be more of an issue at higher ranks.

I changed to having my hits in my side deck because that is what works best in this meta- also my small side deck from long ago isn't really viable at max level anymore, especially with healers. Another note- I'm a bit "extra" so I use 1 pip fire and storm dispels which you will see in my side deck, and I have some tools packed in there that are only for specific situations (more of a thing to worry about at higher ranks- a Shift tc could save/win you the match against a difficult opponent).

Let me know if you have any questions! I like to help people with PvP.

p.s. I could spend a lot of time explaining my decisions for my deck setup- tbh a lot of people have different opinions on how to set their deck and might not even agree with mine. You kind of figure out what works best as you PvP more, and you make little adjustments as you realize you needed a certain card to show and it didn't (so add 1 more), etc. My snow drifts were specifically for availing hands, but I think crit heals are going to be reworked and therefore I would probably take them out. And yeah definitely only balefrosts, no katabatics.

One more thing- A lot of ices go the blade stacking route but I never wanted to do that, so that's why my deck is low on blades. That method might become more necessary since shad spells are weaker now, though.

So I should train into it then?

I should mention that I have all of the Ice Lore spells except Celestial Intervention. I also have Savage Paw, Ninja Piglets, and Loremaster trained- along with a Balance Mastery from Omen. Is a Balance/Ice combo any good? I would most likely have to get my hands on a specialized pet and Pack gear with balance and Ice damage, but it is something to consider.

I don't think a mastery is viable at that level, I haven't done much around there but I don't really see anyone 100+ use masteries. And, I think TC weakness should be fine, don't think its super necessary to train.
