Are some Adventure talents not worth it?

I have a Mythotaur with Myth Finder - which can possibly find Essence of Myth Elixirs in chests. Have not used it much but I found a post somewhere where someone complains about not getting any Elixirs after 25 tries. So I doubled that and opened 50 chests with that little guy and I got nothing.

It is a great talent - unless it never works. Has anyone actually gotten an Essence Elixir or is this possibly a great talent apart from the fact it never actually works?

I just noticed your post. I wasn't aware of this type of pet talent, and I don't even see Essence of Myth elixir in the wiki, so I'm guessing that not many players have used it.

Yeah, it is from the Storm Deckathalon - a recipe you could buy (http://www.wizard101central.com/wiki...rm_Deckathalon). Being able to find it in the wild was pretty exciting, except that (from my very limited testing) it appears to be supra-ultra-rare.

Ah well, I do like some of the Combat talents, but I am thinking the Adventure talents may be a waste of a slot if you never get anything from them.

I daresay most Adventure talents aren't worth it. Sure, you might get that Essence of Myth elixir, but it looks like it has a low drop rate, and for moderate benefits for a limited amount of time, you're probably better off manifesting a resist, critical, or damage talent for questing or farming. I guess it's nice to have one just to open chests, but the investment wouldn't really pay off, imo.

I've thought about making one of those types of pets before. The one's that pick up things or give you extra loot from chests but the main nail stopping me from doing it is that I'm wayyyyyyyyy too lazy to switch pets all of the time. I can barely remember to switch to my Epic energy Unicorn pet whenever I turn in a quest on my life so it gets the +4 Experience from quest completion. A lot of times I turn in a quest with my Ultra Enchanted Armament and it can't even get Experience at all since it's maxed out.

I'm sure having an Adventure pet is nice but I would suggest getting a regular Critical/Damage pet instead since those are more useful in battle. That is unless you're up for switching your pet over after every battle in order to reap the rewards of equipping the adventure pet

I've been using the Life Finder talent at every opportunity, probably two dozen times at least in various worlds since my Soulful Draconian manifested it, and have yet to see my pet find an Essence of Life elixir.

Has anyone EVER been successful with this type of Talent on a pet? If it has been posted somewhere, please let me know, because I can't recall seeing it.

on a side note, you can find school essences during mahyem event, craftable for a few beastmoon stones. So if you diligently farm beastmoon seeds, you will have plenty to stockpile the essence of your choice when it comes out. (really cheap recipes).

If they would let you combine multiple adventure talents on one pet.....then I say it would be worth it (since you could actually have a decent chance of getting what the talent is offering).

Ice Scout seems to work much better than Life Finder. I just harvested my third Ore in The Atheneum, and got 3 Perfect Sapphire bonus reagents.

Now I'm waiting out the 4 minute cool-down to harvest again. It's a long time when the next Ore spawn is right there.

Hold Up! The next Ore spawn harvested gave me one Ore and 589 Gold??? @Sparck? is this right?

PS - Gold seems to be a pretty common bonus with this talent:
